Grandad

I hope you can remember
As i do now
So that you may feel the joy I feel
When thinking about the times we shared
Whether in the wam sun you took us to the park
Or it was cold and raining
And you sat and watched Matilda
For the tenth time on repeat

You loved us unconditionally
And we love you too
Saying goodbye to you was so hard
But at least now you have peace
Your mind was gone long before you
But you were always my Grandad

Your dementia is represented
By the Forget-me-not flower
I can't help thinking how appropriate that is
Because I will never forget you
Or all you did for us

Not for one second
Until we meet again
