She's woken the next morning by a voice demanding to know where Dumbledore is. She groans gently, her curtains still pulled around her and rolls over, pushing her head under the pillow.

"This is a hospital wing, Minister, don't you think you'd do better to—"

She hears doors opening and gathers that she's not going to get much more sleep. She pulls herself up, conjures a brush and drags it through her hair before standing up and stretching tiredly. Her muscles are sore and she's still groggy, but she pushes her curtains aside. Dumbledore is sweeping up the ward toward Cornelius Fudge, Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall, the latter of whom looks absolutely overcome with fury.

"What has happened?" Dumbledore asks sharply. "Why are you disturbing these people? Minerva, I'm surprised at you— I asked you to stand guard over Barty Crouch—"

"There is no need to stand guard over him anymore, Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall calls, her voice high and full of spite. "The Minister has seen to that!"

"When we told Mr Fudge that we had caught the Death Eater responsible for tonight's events, he seemed to feel his personal safety was in question," Snape supplies in a low voice, tinges of fury still covering it. "He insisted on summoning a Dementor to accompany him into the castle. He brought it up to the office where Barty Crouch—"

"I told him you would not agree, Dumbledore," McGonagall interrupts. Aurelia watches the exchange quietly and unnoticed apart from Finn who watches her carefully. "I told him you would never allow Dementors to set foot inside the castle, but—"

"My dear woman!" Fudge yells. "As Minister of Magic, it is my decision whether I wish to bring protection with me when interviewing a possibly dangerous—"

Professor McGonagall drowns him out. "The moment that... that thing entered the room, it swooped down on Crouch and— and—" She doesn't have to finish the sentence. The Dementors administered their kiss to Barty Crouch. His soul is gone. He's practically useless.

"That doesn't sound like much of an interview to me," Aurelia says plainly, stepping out into the main bulk of the hospital wing. Fudge turns to her with a hard stare.

"By all accounts, he is no loss!" Fudge insists. "It seems he has been responsible for several deaths!"

"But he cannot now give testimony, Cornelius," Dumbledore reminds him, looking at the Minister incredulously. "He cannot give evidence about why he killed those people."

"Why he killed them? Well, that's no mystery, is it?" he splutters. "He was a raving lunatic! From what Minerva and Severus have told me, he seems to have thought he was doing it all on You-Know-Who's instructions!" He sends Aurelia a furtive look as she rolls her eyes.

"Lord Voldemort was giving him instructions, Cornelius," Dumbledore says plainly. "Those people's deaths were mere by-products of a plan to restore Voldemort to full strength again. The plan succeeded. Voldemort has been restored to his body."
