Between wanting to just cry at how painful his legs were, as well as laughing at the sheer insanity of how his move had just worked, he honestly just wanted to fall asleep and just wait until it was the next event.
Maybe that move had been too overkill, since no one else had gotten here, but Present Mic had announced his name nonetheless, sounding really impressed and pleased before he returned to commentating over the other participants.
Aizawa just remained silent. Ah well.
He hoped that everyone from his class would get here soon enough.
The boy puts on a brave look as he stands up, shakily, before sitting back down, deciding that it's not time yet. He's still good enough to just rest up for now, until the next course.
Soon enough, students flood the area, with Katsumi and Shirayuki at the lead. Both were tired, but when their gazes fell on him, he could only smile back, waving.
He pushed himself quite a bit back there. Can't say it was an accident, since he had a general idea of what was going to happen, but man... that was crazy.
"That was a reckless thing you pulled off back there," sighed the red-white haired girl as she approached the boy. "Not a bad trick, though."
"Heh... yeah. I just thought about it at the last second, to be honest," he scratched the back of his neck, a gentle shyness in his visage that made the girl forget his usual commando persona. How he could be so confident, yet so kind and shy at the same time amazes her. "I mean, I forced myself to use more than my 50% limit, so yeah."
"Jeez, be careful not to overdo yourself, Izuku," huffed Katsumi as she sat beside him, giving a soft smack on his shoulder. "I want to fight you, you know? It won't do to have you already tired out before the fighting starts!"
"Yeah, I'll make sure to hold myself until I can fight you one-on-one," he nodded, smiling. She could be so brash, but underneath that thorny exterior was a kind girl. God bless her. "Anyways, good job to you girls. You doing alright?"
"Yeah," nodded the blonde.
"Same here," hummed the other girl. "And now, it's time for the second event."
Soon enough, Midnight had returned to the podium, removing a leaf that was stuck in her hair before smiling once more, making the announcements.
"Alright then, the Obstacle Course is over! Congratulations to the forty students who had managed to complete the previous course! And so, all of you will be advancing to the second event!" She steps aside for everyone to see the leaderboard, with Izuku's name on the very top, followed by Katsumi and Shirayuki.
'Please let it be a Cavalry Battle, please let it be a Cavalry Battle...' He hoped to himself, feeling extremely jittery.
"And for our second event, you ask? It will be a 15 minutes Cavalry Battle!" And her words elicits a breath of relief from the greenette, thankful that his hopes for sticking to the cannon plotline was answered this time. "Depending on your placing in the leaderboard, from down to up, your point increases! Say for instance, place forty-two, you get 10 points! Forty-three, 20 points, and so on."
Her gaze falls onto Izuku, and everyone immediately stares at him, the boy flinching. Is this seriously going to be a thing from now on?
"And for the number one student..." The screen hums, as if physically excited, before it displays a number, shocking everyone. "One million points!"
'Of course I'd be one million...' A cross between a sigh and a whimper escapes his lips, noticing how everyone stared at him harder, almost boring holes into his body.
