A Week Later—Japan, Musutafu City, Midoriya Apartment
If there was one thing that Ender hated (and he certainly knew that he wasn't the only one that felt this way), it was exams.
Of course, he understood the importance of it; it was a way to identify one's progress, and determine just where they stand. In a way, it helped in motivation too, pushing them to go even farther.
Even then, he just can't help it, can he?
Studying for the exams, forcing themselves to memorize facts and information and just regurgitate it all onto their exam papers was just a process not anyone could afford to do. Those with photogenic memory or are just really good at memorization would have made the cut, and probably aced it... while those who don't just don't.
And perhaps I'm speaking a little too far, but I'll leave it as that. That's just my opinion, so yeah.
Even then, Izuku knew that there was no way around it. He had to do this, after all―he had to keep up with his classmates no matter what, even in the classroom. Hero training was still a-must, but even this was important to him. No matter what, he must not stop himself from studying.
So of course, in the days following the exams, Izuku had made sure to brush up on all the subjects, as well as having revision sessions with all his friends—being invited to Yaoyorozu's place that one time was certainly enough to make him feel small, and definitely awed. But still, there were some things that he was worried about.
What if he might accidentally forget all the knowledge during the written exams?
What if he started stuttering too loudly?
What if he lost control and had to go to the toilet to calm himself down by pouring gallons of water onto his face, and probably lose too much time to properly finish the exam?
Well... he's not sure whether he should be grateful or absolutely stupefied, because...
'Pssh, who cares if we help you out? Morgana helped out Akira in the tests too!'
'That doesn't―Uurgh...''So you'll accept our help then. Perfect.'
He knew. He knew that he shouldn't be grateful, but he was. And God, was it awful.
Because as much as Izuku wanted to try and have a go at the exams on his own, there was no denying the fact that having additional help was definitely going to be a great thing. And that was the thing, both L and Nana were helping him. Even when he asked them not to!
There was the saying 'Two heads were better than one', and such was true now. Only that there were three minds in this situation. As such, if he couldn't remember anything, they'd be there to back him up.
It didn't help (it did, and that made him feel so bad and lucky) that L was actually very intelligent, having an IQ that certainly deserved respect. Nana was, in her humble opinion, pretty good in the brains department, but there was no denying the fact that L was just a smarts powerhouse on his own.
Again, even if this came with the undeniable fact that he was sure to get the highest marks in the exams, though he was not sure about beating Katsumi, he kinda' felt bad that he was resorting to cheating, and even if he told them not to help him, they weren't going to listen.
God damn it.
This was seriously one of the times that he feared in this world.
Well, aside All For One and everything else, of course. Oh, and the fact that he got reincarnated in this world, save this world, yada-yada.
