The trio only had a short time to prepare but when they walked into world history come the next day, they were confident there project wasn't going to be a complete train wreck.

Once the class settles, Mr Mathews goes around the room with his basket of phones and begins to talk.
"Here you go, take your phone." The history teachers was being very sarcastic (to say the least). "Take it now. Very good. Here's your phone. Good, great, nobody talks to nobody. No more feelings. Thank you. Okay, guys, the great technology debate. Let's boot it up!"

Instantly mr Mathews daughter jumps up taking the small blonde and there two attractive - like model worthy- friends up to the front of the classroom.
Farkle lifts up his phone in clear view, "I have always believed technology would help us fulfill our potential as a species. But when Farkle does rule the world, no matter what devices we come up with, we should also never forget what we can do with a pencil, a piece of paper and our own imaginations." He pulls out a piece of paper showing the class a drawing of the night sky. "I've been keeping this in my pocket where my phone used to be. I keep looking at it. I'm fine."

"Thanks, Farkle." Said maya
The boy turns to stare at her, "Look in my eyes."
"No."

Oliver can't help but smile at the obvious inside joke, he had a lot of those with his siblings.

Riley speaks up next, stepping fore wards slightly, "I thought my whole life was in my phone, but it turns out that I don't really have any friends in here."She gestures to her phone, "And you don't need your phone to connect with your real friends."
"Allow us to demonstrate." Said Lucas McHunk.

The pair turn to face each other, Lucas stopping slightly to look at Riley.
"Hi"
"Hi"

Once the group sat down, yogi's group took the stage, followed by Nigel and Jeffrey's groups. Then it was Oliver, clarissa and Wyatt's turn

The trio set up at the front of the class. Clary pulling out her violin and Wyatt setting up his keyboard. Oliver follows suit unzipping his guitar case.

Once the sheet music is set up Oliver steps forewords to speak.
"We wanted to something different for our project, so we wrote a song."

Wyatt steps forward swapping places with Oliver.
"Okay, now your going to clap. One...two...three...four." Said the boy with an easy smile stretching his face.

Clarissa takes the stage, "keep it going, now when I motion at you your gonna speed up ok?"

"Ready?" Y asks getting nods from Clary and Oliver.

Clary counts them in and the Oliver hits play on his phone (he had recorded all the instruments they couldn't take to school last night).
There's silence (apart from the claps), until Wyatt speaks up,
"Oh yeah
What we're living in
Let me tell ya"

The music kicks in and Oliver takes lead, "And it's a wonder man can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doing for us
And I'm giving all my love to this world
Only to be told
I can't see
I can't breathe
No more will we be
And nothing's going to change the way we live
'Cause we can always take but never give
And now that things are changing for the worse"

The clapping stops at clary's signal only to speed up again moments later.

"See, it's a crazy world we're living in
And I just can't see that half of us immersed in sin
Is all we have to give these -"

Almost perfectly the trio bounce from side to side in sync with the song,
"Future's made of virtual insanity
Now always seem to, be governed by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground"

Battered converse squeak as Oliver glides over the dark wood, lost in the beat.

"And I'm thinking what a mess we're in
Hard to know where to begin
If I could slip the sickly ties that earthly man has made
And now every mother, can choose the colour
Of her child
That's not nature's way"

Oliver strolls down the rows of desks sliding to the beat.
"Well that's what they said yesterday
There's nothing left to do but pray
I think it's time I found a new religion"

Clary picks up the next verse,
"Whoa, it's so insane to synthesize another strain
There's something in these futures that we have to be told"

"Future's made of virtual insanity
Now always seem to, be governed by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground" Oliver circles around back of the class Brenda and back up to the front.

"Now there is no sound
If we all live underground
And now it's virtual insanity
Forget your virtual reality
Oh, there's nothing so bad
Oh yeah, I know yeah"

"Of this virtual insanity, we're livin' in
Has got to change, yeah
Things, will never be the same
And I can't go on
While we're livin' in oh, oh virtual insanity"

Oliver pauses to throw farkle a wink
"Oh, this world, has got to change
'Cause I just, I just can't keep going on, it was virtual
Virtual insanity that we're livin' in, that we're livin' in
That virtual insanity is what it is
Yeah"

"Future's made of virtual insanity
Now always seem to, be governed by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground
Yes we do"

Oliver spins as clary slides into the spotlight taking the last verse,
"Oh, now there's nothing that we live in
It's all-
Out of window, you know
There is nothing worse than a rambling man
There is nothing worse than a foolish mind
Virtual insanity is what we're living in
Yeah, well it's alright now"

The trio take a well earned bow as applause echos through the room.
