Town
Ares turned and walked away towards Lord Hades “Please uncle, I beg you, please save him. Please.” Lord Hades felt sorry for Ares; he finally found his happiness only to have it taken away from him by that idiot. Lord Hades nodded at Thanatos, who came forward and gently pried Landon’s limp body from Ares’ clenching hands. “It will be okay Ares, Thanatos will look after Landon.” With a nod of Death himself Ares was forced to let go, surrendering Landon to Death's care. A howl of wind whipped around Ares, forcing everybody close to step away from him. His eyes glowed an even more sinister red, and it wasn’t just him. His Demi-God and God children did too. It seemed that whereas the other Gods struggled to keep in one form, Ares had somehow made his Roman and Greeks side work together. He even looked different; he was still dressed in his Greek battle gear but there was a more calculated side to him. A side that most associated with Mars rather than Ares. He somehow made the perfect blend of Mars and Ares.
His presence terrified everyone, what scared them the most was the fact that his children and mostly his Demi-God children also achieved the perfect blend of the two. It freaked Hercules out, and he was even more put out by the grave voice that came out of his mouth “You harmed what’s mine. You will not life any longer. I will inflict the same pain on you, as you did to me.” Just then Hercules’ extra troops entered the scene. All of them were humans, whose presidents or higher uppers side with Hercules. The blend of Ares and Mars surveyed them all, “This is your back up? They will not stay alive for too long.” Commanding officers of different troops were confused, here they thought they were going to fight the man who was responsible for the out brakes of war and murder earlier in the year and they were faced with children instead. This was not what they were told. “YOU!” A commanding officer shouted and pointed at a random paranormal “What the hell is going on?” The paranormal in question just shrugged “He is the one who started that mess in the beginning of the year with all the wars and stuff.” The officer sneered “What about the innocent kids huh? Wise guy?” The paranormal cackled, clutching his stomach “Innocent? Those kids are far from innocent, they are his children.” He said pointing to the man opposite Hercules.
In the background Gabe struggled with the chains, he was not going to watch Ares fall even deeper in despair than he already had. He might never show it but he considered the man his friend and his friend needed help. “Let go off me you moron!” he snarled when the Alpha pulled him roughly along the ground, making him stumble. He would never forgive himself the stupidity of not checking twice to make sure their tracks were completely covered. If he could he would have smacked his palm to his face.
*Earlier at Gabe’s house*
In the back of his mind Gabe knew that he had to make sure that the trail of Landon’s blood was gone. It led all the way to his house, clearly marking their path. But he was busy with making sure Landon wouldn’t die of the blood loss or any of his other wounds to really care at the moment. This proved to be their undoing. Usually Gabe isn’t this sloppy or careless; he just failed epically in judging the situation. It has been a long time since Gabe was in a fight, let alone with vamps. They are nasty little buggers, the whole lot of them. Gabe stilled when he heard a sound that shouldn’t be there. He wasn’t sure if he heard it right until he heard the sound again. It sounded like nails being dragged along a chalkboard, hurting Gabe’s overly sensitive ears. He winched slightly at the sound, but perked up when he finally realised what the sound meant. The damn buggers breached my protective wards! Snarling slightly at his own stupidity for not recognising the sound immediately, Gabe moved Landon to a safer place inside his house while he went out to confront the vamps.
He knew he was strong, but he also knew he wasn’t strong enough to take on all those vampires by himself. Cursing his bad luck he did it anyway, he wasn’t one for not going down without a fight. Before they could get those irritating blessed silver chains around him, he managed to take out at least one third of them. He did wonder where they had found the silver chains, they had been thought lost for centuries. What’s-her-name cackled with obvious glee, when a vamp came out of his house carrying Landon over his shoulder. She turned her blood red eyes on him “I wonder how much you will bring.” Gabe felt his body shake with rage; she was talking about selling him to the highest bidder, like they did in the old days. She sighed as several vampires restricted him even further as she closed in on him and pouted “Too bad we will never know” She sighed “I promised that retched Alpha of yours that you would be returned in one piece.” She lightly slapped his cheek as she grinned and turned around walking away.
