Longing

Slowly he opened his eyes and was met with the rays of the morning sun. "Another beautiful day...", Kisuke whispered exhausted. His night was a peaceful and dreamless one. Nevertheless, he felt strained. His look wandered to his window. "Another beautiful day without her...", he whispered again and watched the waving pedals of the Sakura Tree.

How long was it since he last saw her face? He couldn't remember exactly, but one thing was clear. How much he still loved her. She was haunting his mind. Sighing deeply, he thought back to the old days, which always let him feel heavy and strained. This beautiful smile of hers. Every day, after he entered his squad, he was allowed to admire this sweet expression on her face.
He remembered it like it was yesterday. His nervousness around her. The helpless stuttering, the moment she asked him, her captain, a question. A smile crazed his lips of those images.

"(Y/N)..i had never the chance to tell you how much I love you...", he thought sadly. He knew that he was lying to himself. There were plenty of chances to confess. Like every week, she brought him the paperwork for his signature, but his usual happy and open-minded self changed immediately into a shy and nervous mess. (Y/N) was the only person who could make him feel this way and he was happy about that. He found the love of his life, the special someone, but it wasn't meant to be. After he lost his title as a captain and had to escape to the human world, he also lost her and it haunted him every day.

''Keep going Kisuke...'', he made a fake smile and got up. His sad expression changed into his usual carefree one. Ready for another day.

''Good Morning Kisuke-san!'', a sweet voice greeted him, after he entered his shop. ''Hi Ururu! Be a sweet little girl and make me some tea, will you?'', he aksed cheerfully and sat down to relax. The little girl nodded with a small smile and quickly left to fulfill his order.
''Kisuke, we have a guest!'', Tessai came to his side and pointed to the entrance. It was a bit early for business, for his taste. But after he was met with the appearance of his best friend, Kisuke's look quickly changed from a bored into a happy one.

''Yoruichi!!! How long since you've visited? Years? Great to see you! Come here little kitty, have some Milk!'', he cheered and jumped around her in a happy dance. The black cat gave him an annoyed look and walked past him to a more quiet area.

''Years? Cut the crap..I was out for one week..I have news.'', she told him seriously and ignored his silly acting. Kisuke stopped immediately and followed her. Interested he took a seat and waited patiently for her to go on.
''You want to hear the good news or the bad ones first?'', she asked in a playful tone, but his serious stare let her stop and go on.

''First of all, Rukia is in trouble. Her brother is coming to the human world and wants to bring her back....'', she started.

''Poor little thing. Her brother's mood isn't easy to endure.. Maybe he just wants to see how she is doing and support her.'', Kisuke joked cheerfully and threw some confetti in the air.

''Yeah...yeah...make your jokes. Byakuya won't come alone. Renji is coming along and.....''

''Who else?'', he asked curiously, while waving with his fan before his face.

''(Y/N)..'', the cat said in a sweet tone and enjoyed his shocked expression.

For a moment Kisuke froze in the spot and couldn't believe what he just heard.

"She is coming to the human world...as well..?..'', he stuttered nervously and hid his face behind his fan. Amused the black cat let out a short laugh.
''Yes, because lately there are more hollows out there. (Y/N) became quite strong. You are lucky that they choose her. Now you can see her again. She has to clear the area so that Renji and Byakuya can speak with Rukia without any distraction.'', the cat explained calmly, while starting to lick her paws. Kisuke's mind went blank. He was able to see her again. His love. (Y/N), the beautiful goddess of his dreams? Shocked he jumped to his feet. Frustrated he held his head with both hands.
