Lovesick Jonin

"Kakashi what's wrong?", (Y/N) asked worried after waiting for god knows how long at her doorstep.

"You see... I...", the once strongest and normally emotionless jonin stuttered nervously, while trying hard to avoid eye contact. Something was definately off.

With every minute (Y/N) got more worried about the situation. Never did  she see Kakashi in such a frightened state. Beside of the unusal visit at her home. Even if they know each other for many years, going on missions with his team as a medical ninja or care for them at the hospital. After coming home, everybody cared for his own daily life. You were good friends and it was always fun to be with him and his team. Nothing more. You had a great connection with the copy cat ninja, but to see him now at your door completely out of character, nervous, blushing like crazy, stuttering and sweating made you feel uncomfortable.

"Is it about the last mission? Did I make any mistakes?", (Y/N) asked frightened.

"Well you see..", he started while scratching his head with one hand and still fighting for words.

"I knew it.. I failed. I was too slow... No... It was because I couldn't protect myself better, or? I am no longer in your team. Is it that?", you asked hurt and watched the ground to hide your sadness.

"Wait, what? (Y/N) no that's not it.", Kakashi came back to his senses, quickly reaching for her hand to get her attention. His sudden move and closeness let her blush furiously, but still it made her thoughts not better.

"Yeah, i am not dumb Kakashi. You came the whole way to my apartment, late in the evening, no mission or order from the hokage and fighting for words to tell me something. Just say that I am not good enough for your team and you are free to go and don't have to deal with me anymore. ", (Y/N) spoke desperately, watching his shocked expression with tearful eyes. Grumbling in frustration, she avoided his intense gaze on her, feeling devasted of failing her task. On the other side Kakashi pulled himself together to say those words he was fighting the whole time, no since he laid his eyes on her beautiful form. Cursing under his breath that he made her feel bad, he took all his courage to finally make a move.

"Go.. Go out with me..."

"and tell the Hokage that I will only work at the hospital from now on. How stupid of me to think i am ready to go on missions....", she whispered while fighting back tears. Slowly her look wandered back to his strong gaze, irritated of his sudden relieved and soft smile. Was he out of his mind? Ignoring her breakdown completely.

"Did I miss something? I am really frustrated right now and you are smiling? For me it was an honor to be on team 7, away from the hospital life and go on adventures. I was so proud that I was assigned to work with the famous copy cat ninja and now?", (Y/N) said angered, but a sudden touch on your forehead let her fell silent immediately. Soft lips on her skin. Gasping she felt like suffocating.

"He... He kissed me? What the hell is going on with him?", she thought surprised, but mostly quite stressed.

Slowly he pulled back and put his mask back onto his face. Just a glimpse, but enough to see his stunning face. Mouth agape (Y/N) stared at his smiling and blushing expression, feeling completely helpless of this man's strange behavior.  Again he repeated his question, but this time with more confidence.

"(Y/N), I asked you to go out with me. "

Another gasp escaped her lips. Taking in a deep breath, (Y/N) slowly put the pieces together. Unbelievable.

"You what?... Me? So that was?"

"Yeah... That was the reason that I came for. I have to admit, it wasn't like I have planned... I am really sorry. You see I am not used to do things like that", he spoke nervously.

"You mean you never do things like that. That was the last thing I would think of your visit", you admitted uneasy.

You couldn't believe it. Kakashi Hatake the most popular ninja in Konoha wanted to go out with you.
Now you were the stuttering and blushing  mess.

" on a date with me? Are you sure?  I am nothing special and on our missions i am always clumsy and you have to help me.. i thought i am a burden for your team. There are so many woman after you and out of nowhere you pick me? .. ", you spoke surprised and thought about the gossip of people, mostly fangirls that you have to deal with.

Kakashi pulled you to his chest. Slowly he leaned closer, his breath tickled against your skin and let you shiver.

"(Y/N) stop that nonsense. You should know better that I don't care about such things. And i didn't pick you out of nowhere. Since I have met you and that's really long, I have feelings for you, but making a step forward was the most difficult mission ever. For me, you are strong, clever and god you are beautiful. I know this sounds like a scene from a romantic novel, maybe because I took one of my books as an advice...oh forget that part.", he stuttered embarrassed to saying that without to think, but your giggle and adorable smile let him go on.

" I know I am not an easy person and I am known for my blunt comments and often cold acting...I wouldn't be surprised if you are saying no to a relationship, but I really wanna show you that I am serious about that.. I... I fell for you (Y/N).... and I want to be with you and maybe you give me a chance."

To hear those heartwarming words from a man who had to endure nightmares for years let your tears fall. Slowly he brushed them away with his fingers. You could see that he was sad about your shaken form.
Quickly you pressed your body against his and hugged him.

"You are perfect the way you are. You are not cold. You are always thinking of others first. You are always protecting me and the others, risking your life everyday. You say your are too straightforward? Why is that bad? If something is wrong, it's important to say the truth without any nonsense. I wouldn't want it any other way. And yes I would love to go out with you. I would love to know you better and like every woman in this town I fell for you too, but had no guts to tell you, because I thought I have no chance. ", you spoke, while hiding your face in his chest. For a moment you stayed like that, enjoying each other's warmth.

" (Y/N)? "

Slowly you looked up to be met with an unmasked Kakashi. Mouth agape you were about to ask what he was doing, but he was quicker and pressed his lips against yours. Paralyzed by his sudden move, you had to comprehend what was going on. Slowly your eyes closed and your body gave in and let you fall into his hug. The kiss showed you so much love, longing and desire. It made your mind go crazy. Your hands started to go up and brush through his soft hair. A short moan from him showed you that it was more than okay. The sweet touch of your lips on his was like a drug. Everytime you stopped to take a short breath, he catched your lips once again.

Slowly Kakashi stopped and rested his forehead against yours. .

"(Y/N)...thank you so much.."

A sigh escaped your lips. It was like a dream. A dream that you never want to wake up. 

''So you were proud to work with the famous copy cat ninja?'', he asked in a playful tone.

''From all the things i was speaking you didn't miss that part.'', you rolled your eyes

''No you also said that you are clumsy and i have to rescue all the time. Yeah that's true.'', he added jokingly. After he saw you pouting and angered expression he kissed you again. 

''But for me it was always adorable and i wouldn't want it any other way.''
