Chapter 8

Kit slowly took out the phone and called Beam's father. It looked like the wolf was not going to let him out of its sight as he circled around them alert.

"Kit..." Beam's father answered in first ring "Where are you, how's Beam?"

"Err. ... Mr. Baramee, Beam is unconscious but okay" Kit paused unsure how to explain, "You see... there is this wo"

"Stay where you guys are" Mr. Baramee said, "I don't think he will hurt you – looks like he is protecting you....and Kit," he paused "My pack is around you – don't worry"

"Okay" Kit said, a bit surprised by how Mr.Baramee knew that he and his friends are being held hostage by the wolf "Can you hurry please, Ming has been having some kind of seizure and I really don't know what to do"

Wolf instantly turned towards Kit, and walked closer to him.

Kit froze, his mind wondering where Phana was, he had clearly seen him coming with Ming – now all he can hope is that Phana is not lying dead somewhere. 

The tears he had been controlling rolled off his face and the wolf whined.

He walked around them once before settling down behind Kit – in such a way that Kit, Ming and Beam were between his legs as he watched around forest.

Kit sighed, He was scared for Beam and Ming but he was not actually scared of the wolf. Kit saw him carry Beam and Ming away from the parking lot into the forest like how a cat would carry its kittens, and he didn't let Kit take a step away from his line of sight during the entire walk.

Kit saw him stay alert as if the was trying to shield them – but only problem now is that both Beam and Ming need medical attention and Kit had no idea what to do.

'Any ideas?' Kit asked hoping Nila would answer

'Are you finally accepting am real? Selfish much?' Nila questioned

'No need to be vengeful. Am at my wits end here' Kit replied, a part of him wondering if this was even normal

'Do you recognize him?' Nila asked

'How the hell am I supposed to do that' Kit snapped and the wolf instantly looked at him as if detecting his annoyance

'Don't scare him' Nila said 'right now, all he wants to do is keep you guys safe – keep his mate and family safe'

'we are his family?!' Kit was amazed and worried 'how the hell are we family'

Nila sighed, 'You have a long way to go... for now relax and comfort him'

Kit sighed, serves him right for asking the voice in his head – how the fuck was he supposed to comfort a 16 foot killer wolf! He slowly got up, having decided to give it a try and the wolf growled.

"Hey" Kit said, feeling stupid and scared at the same time "We are okay... see, we are okay"

But the wolf just kept looking around

'See if I act on your words again' he said those words aimed at Nila

'Moron – my words are your words too' Nila snapped 'I waited for eons only to end up in you!!!'

Kit gritted his teeth, not appreciating Nila's tone but he ignored it and continued talking to the wolf

"They both need medical attention, I don't know who you are, but can you please let me take them to hospital," Kit pleaded with the wolf

Wolf just looked at him puzzled and Kit slowly stretched out his hands, holding his palm in front of it "I don't know if you understand –  can you please let me take them"
