His eyes opened—now changed back to their original, bright, pearly shade—as the device on his neck fell off just like the others. "wh-wha...? what happened...?"
"YEEAAHH!!!! SANS IS BAAACK!!!!" Undyne shouted.
Frisk and the others immediately burst out in cheers.
He smiled, remembering just that. But then, he remembered all the things that Gaster had him do.
He turned to Gaster, and in a moment of rare sensibility, Gaster fled.
There was silence for a few seconds. And then there was more cheering.
This time, Sans joined in. That night, they had a huge feast in celebration of freedom, and threw Frisk up in the air as they chanted her name. Frisk looked at Chara sympathetically, knowing she had been the real hero. Chara merely shook her head, smiling, and joined Frisk in bouncing.
It was a good day.
