01: The Legend Awakens

Where am I?

I'm surrounded by a pitch black abyss. It feels like I'm floating, alone. But I don't feel scared, I feel at peace. But I feel very tired. I let my thoughts wonder once I remembered what happened to me.

Am I dead?

This isn't what I imagined heaven or hell to look like. Though I don't really care where I am, as long as I get the long-awaited peace and quiet. With nothing to bother me.

A bright light suddenly appeared as I shielded my eyes from the rays. It's was soft and warm yet harsh and blinding.

"...Open your eyes..." The same voice I heard earlier spoke. It sounded muffled, distant even. I could barely hear what she was saying. I tried to call out to her, try to understand what she needs from me but it was like I lost my voice, numb and unable to say anything.

"Open your eyes.." The voice called out more clearly. The light began to shine more brightly before completely engulfing me.

"Open your eyes."

The sound of nature reached my ears as my vision blurred my surroundings of green. I felt my body laying in warm, shallow water, the breeze making me shiver ever so slightly as goosebumps appeared on my arms.

"Wake up, Y/N."

As if I've been woken up from a nightmare, my eyes snapped open yet my body stayed in place, not wanting to move yet.

I swear if I have sleep paralysis I will curse my damn existence.

"You are the light, the light the will shine upon the darkness and guide those who are blinded."

I rose an eyebrow as I slowly sat up and from my water bed. I don't remember agreeing to this job. I don't even remember how I even got here.

"Find him Y/N. Find him, lead him down the correct path to save Hyrule from the approaching end."

"Um..who?" I questioned as I stood up but didn't get an answer in return. Wow. Rude much. Jeez, I woke up in the middle of nowhere with a voice in my head. Not exactly my cup of tea but hey, guess you gotta adapt to the living arrangements in heaven to make it work.

"Oh, hey. Guess you arrive in heaven butt naked too."  I address casually as I took notice that I wasn't wearing any clothes at the moment, "No wonder why I felt really cold all of a sudden."

I looked around my surroundings, taken in as much as possible. I noticed worn down clothes on tree branches as well as a cloke with white, majestic like markings on the back surrounding a leaf. Whose clothes are these?
"Welp, it's finders keepers now." I said as I put the worn out clothes on, "And besides, I'm pretty sure I need them way more than whoever owns them." The clothes were a bit small but it's better than walking around naked.

Ok, now I'm more lost than before.

It's been around 30 minutes since I've decided to wander around and find a way out of this forest but now I completely regret my poor life choices. Of course, this was after I figured out that this is not heaven by cutting my self on a tree branch and angles don't cut themselves on trees. Now I have no idea where the hell I am.

"I swear if I see another tree, I will scream." I grumbled as I continued walking, not paying attention to where I walking.

I felt my foot get caught between some rocks, causing me to lose my balance. Yelped in pain as my body rolled through the steep hill. I'm cursing mentally as I tried to protect my face from anything that might damage it. I landed ungracefully with a grunt, my clothes dirty and more torn up, leaves and sticks tangled in my hair.
