I saw that you were perfect and I loved you, then I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more.

"Sina!" I wake up with a start.

The unfamiliar surrounding gets me unsettled. The last thing I remember is Melanie scolding me.

Pain surges through my left hand when I lift it up. An IV is attached to it. Half of it is empty by now. I must have been here for a long time.

What about the shop? What about Sina?

I pull the IV out of my hand and jump off the bed. The room looks really expensive. I have to take every step carefully. I don't fit in here.

Wait, there is someone here.. I round the gigantic bed and find Jacob sleeping on half floor. His face and one hand is on the bed.

It's undoubtedly his room in his house. My gosh, he's filthy rich. I can tell by looking at his room.

One look on his sleepy face melts my heart. Though when he is awake he daunts me to the core. He is one of those naturally intimidating kind.

His dark tresses falls down on his eyes. When noticed closely, there is a scar just below his ear, extending to his jawline.

I sit down in front of him and touch it. I can't help it.

His eyes open in a second. I cower back.

He straightens up and reaches for me. "Where's your IV?" He asks rhetorically.

I shift farther away and finally get up. That's when I glean that someone has changed my clothes.

"You changed my clothes?" I ask back, mortified. Thank goodness I had a wax just three days ago. But still, I can't bear the thought of anyone seeing all the stretch marks and everything that I hide underneath my clothes.

"Yours were uncomfortable to rest into." He shrugs at the end casually.

Of course it's no big deal for him. He must've seen hundreds of women naked.

"Listen.. jac.. Mr Woods, I appreciate you helping me.. but I must leave now." I affirm.

He shakes his head and picks me up without any warning. "You are not going anywhere until you finish that IV." He puts me down on the bed again.

His stubbornness is steadfast. It makes my eyes water. "You don't understand. My sister.. she must be so worried. She.. I need to be there with her."

His eyes almost softens upon looking at my face. "Sina has been informed by my trusted. She is staying over at a friend's tonight. You can stop worrying." His voice is still stoic.

He takes my left hand again. I wince when the needle touches the sensitive skin.

"You shouldn't have pulled it out so roughly." He scolds like I'm a kid.

Once the IV is planted again, he opens the drawer of the side table and pull out something like a chocolate bar.

"Eat it. For energy." He hands me.

I push the bar away roughly when I see some nuts in it. Jacob is startled. He gives me a questioning look. "Tree nut allergy. I can't... intake nuts." I tell him.

"I didn't know." He sounds apologetic. But of course he won't say sorry, it's quite possible the word is not in his dictionary. "My staff will arrange something soon. You get some rest."

He gets up and just when he is about to walk away, I grab his hand. His eyes go back and forth between my hand on his wrist and my face. "Why? Why are you doing this?" I ask.

"Cause you kind of fainted in my arms. I cannot just let a pretty florist die in front of my eyes." I'm positive he is not trying to joke. He states it like a fact.

"I want to know the real reason. Melanie was there, she could've taken care of me. Why go through so much trouble because of me?" He is getting on my nerves now. Rich people always have an ulterior motive.

His blue eyes dig holes in my soul. "Believe me when I say I do nothing for free, Sierra." And the daunting man is back.

"What's the cost?" I am as serious as someone like me can be.

"You'll know soon. Till then, get some sleep." He orders and leaves.

Something disastrous is bound to happen tonight. I can feel it in my bones.
