Chaeyoung's POV

"Why don't you meet my parents on your way back?" I suggested which made Lisa nod.

We started walking towards the door, of course I had a hard time walking so Lisa assisted me. Before Lisa could even open the door, it bursts open; revealing my dad. I mentally face palmed myself. Oh no.

"Are you my baby's girlfriend?" Dad blurted out, making me feel more embarrassed. Why are they acting like this? It's not like it's the first time I brought home a friend.

It is kinda the first time though. The back of my mind said. But I have Naeun unnie and Chorong unnie? That's different because they're your doctor and teacher. Oh, right. So it is the first time. Oh great.

Lisa bowed and smiled nervously, "Uhm, no, sir but if you want to." My eyes widen in shock, my dad's too. "I'm just joking, sir." Lisa added, making my dad sigh in relief while I got disappointed, a little. I rolled my eyes at myself. Stop daydreaming about the new girl, self!

"I'm Lalisa Manoban. Chaeyoung's friend." Lisa offered her hand which my dad took happily. "Finally, my daughter won't be a loner anymore." I nudged my dad and playfully rolled my eyes.

My mom then came into view with the biggest smile I've ever seen. "It's been ages since Roseanne brought home a friend." My mom said then she hugged Lisa which made Lisa shock and I did too. What's wrong with them?!

"She won't be lonely anymore." My mom said then she pulled back and I swear, I saw a tear drop. Geeeez, my family is getting crazier.

I pulled Lisa away from dad and mom. "Alice unnie! Guide Lisa back home please!" Both of my mom and dad chuckled.

My sister came into view and pulled Lisa towards her. "See you tomorrow." Lisa said then Alice unnie started dragging Lisa away.

I didn't get to say that I won't see her tomorrow. I have my check up. Hospital again huh? I wonder when will it end.

Mom and dad hugged me before going out of my room. I slowly went towards the window and glanced down, seeing Lisa crossed the road with her camera on her side.

Lisa waved at me when she saw me so I waved back with a big smile on my face.

Mom went back in my room with a food tray on her hands. She put it down on my table and said, "Eat and shower before you sleep. Naeun is on her way." I nodded at my mom.

My sister graduated last year and now, she's already working so I bet she's tired. Mom and dad are always busy so Naeun unnie is the only one left to take care of me. They are all busy, that's why I get so lonely in this house.

Mom and dad have their own office in the house and I bet mom and dad are there right now, doing their work. They need money so that I can live longer which sucks. They're just wasting their money. I'm gonna die anyways. Call me negative all you want but it's the truth. Unless a miracle happens which I doubt.

I went into my bed and took the plate out of the tray. I started eating slowly. Porridge again. When will I ever get to taste real food again? Maybe never.

Minutes later, Naeun unnie came into view with her lab gown on her and a stethoscope around her neck. She really looks good on her doctor outfit.

"Let me guess. It's your night shift." She nodded happily. Why is she so happy having a night shift? Isn't that sad because you'll get sleepy? She's weird anyways so what do I know? When I asked her why is she happy having a night shift one time, she answered, "It's because I get to save more lives." One time she didn't sleep for 48 hours. She stayed awake for two days because a trauma happened at the hospital she's working in.

When I was done eating, she took the plate away from me and she guided me towards the bathroom slowly.

Naeun unnie carefully helped me sat down and she slowly took off my clothes. If you guys are wondering why we didn't get a nurse, it's because Naeun unnie volunteered. I think it was her first day as a doctor back then and she was really dedicated in helping me out. She keeps blurting out back then that she will heal me... I guess she can't.

When I was fully naked, my mind went blank. I'm used to it but another person seeing you in your birth suit is really embarrassing and not that comfy.

Naeun unnie started showering me. Naeun unnie's touches are so careful when she puts soap on me, afraid that she might break my body. It's already broken though.

After the shower, Naeun unnie dressed me up and put me to bed. "Are you ready for your check up tomorrow?" She asked but I just nodded. I wasn't excited or anything because every result after my check up is always the same. Why hope for a miracle if there's no change in my body?

Naeun unnie reached out her hand to touch my face. "Why the gloomy face, Park Roseanne?" She asked, rubbing her thumb on my cheek.

"You will get a new heart. I just know it." She continued with sparkles on her eyes. I wish what you said is true, that I will get a new heart because that will be lovely. Really lovely.

"Don't lose hope." She added then her pager started beeping, meaning that there's a patient needing her help. She kissed my forehead goodnight and she walked out of my room, more like she ran.

My phone then started ringing, even though I'm sleepy as heck, I started looking for my phone using my hand on the table right beside my bed.

When I touched what it felt like a phone, I quickly grabbed it. I unlocked my phone and saw Lisa calling me on messenger.

I quickly accepted the call and put my phone beside my ear, "I just called to say goodnight. Goodnight, Chaeng."

A small smile started spreading on my face. What a cutie. I closed my eyes and whispered, "Goodnight, Pokpak." Then she ended the call with a chuckle. I quickly fell asleep after that.
