A/N: Set in Medieval AU. (Let's pretend that Hiccup is a prince while Astrid is a princess and that Berk transforms from a tribe into a kingdom.)

Summary: Prince Harold (Hiccup in French version) and Princess Astrid of Berk love each other. However, one of Harold's soldiers, Johann, is a traitor and is out to kill Harold and Astrid.

Author's POV

Harold is the 20-year-old prince of Berk and heir to the throne.

Astrid is the 20-year-old princess of Berk and Harold's distant cousin.

The prince and princess love each other very much. The family knew about their relationship and arranged for their betrothal, which made them happier. Not only are they going to be king and queen of Berk, but they are going to rule together as a couple.

Relatives since birth, childhood friends since 3 and a couple when they were 15. Their relationship for so many years became something special, which was love.

...

The couple is going to get betrothed a few days later. The people of Berk are very happy for them. His father, who is the king of Berk, finally decides to retire and coronate Harold and Astrid as the new king and queen.

To celebrate their upcoming betrothal, Harold sings a song that former tribal chief Stoick the Vast (back when Berk was still a tribe) sang to his wife, Valka, which is 'For the Dancing and the Dreaming' to Astrid, despite not being married yet.

...

At their castle, they are having dinner with Astrid's parents. Harold wants to sing to her alone in their bedroom after dinner.

Later, when Harold and Astrid are in their bedroom together, getting ready for bed. Harold is arranging the bedsheets while Astrid is brushing her hair.

Harold starts whistling a familiar tune, which makes Astrid smile sweetly.

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas
With never a fear of drowning
And gladly ride the waves of life
If you would marry me
No scorching sun nor freezing cold
Will stop me
If you will promise me your heart",

Harold starts in a gentle voice as he wraps his arms around Astrid's shoulders and rests his cheeks against hers. He stops for a moment as they close their eyes.

"And love
And love me for eternity
My dearest one, my darling dear
Your mighty words astound me
But I've no need for mighty deeds
When I feel your arms around me",

Astrid continues, putting a hand on the side of his head and pecks his cheek sweetly. Harold turns to look at her beautiful face and nuzzles his nose with hers. He holds out his hand, as a gesture for her to dance with him. She gladly takes it, puts her hairbrush on the table and gets up from her wooden chair, her long hair down. Soon, Harold and Astrid start dancing and singing happily. Unbeknownst to them, their parents and relatives, who are in the main hall of the castle, are listening to the couple. All of them smile at each other, believing that they have made the right choice of arranging the couple's betrothal. Meanwhile, the couple is still dancing and singing upstairs.
