Let's get to know ScarlettBlackDaisy

I'm a twenty-four year old Psychologist/Criminologist/Social-Rights-Activist/MS-student by day and YoungAdult writer by night. A lover of pets, coffee, and rainy nights, I love tragic stories with happy endings. A Wattpad Engagement Ambassador and love interacting with people, so drop a message whenever and I'll get right back to you. A believer in goodness of humanity, fighter for those who can't fight for themselves, and firm faith-holder in the power of kindness and love.I had a pretty rough teenage, went through severe emotional and physical trauma, survived various forms of abuse, and even suicide. Now, my days are spent working with teens who are struggling through the same, and my nights are spent conveying their stories through my writing. I don't believe in stereotypes, push boundaries, and challenge traditions. My stories talk about real-life issues, are based on true stories -- sometimes my own, sometimes of those I interact with -- have beautiful, flawed characters that develop throughout the story. If you want to read something that will make you smile and cry, throw your phone at the wall but go back, pick it up, and continue reading, and characters that will play with your heartstrings -- my stories are perfect for you.

Cracked by him won first place in the Hearts and Daggers (complete).

Story Blurb:

Cracked by Him (Book I of my Him series) follows the true story of two very different and yet not at all different teens.

Hayden Aileron is the complete package. Everything a girl could want -- idealistic perfection, hypnotic eyes, a heart melting smile, and a drop dead gorgeous body.

But behind his façade, he's the boy who is falling apart.

Struggling not only with diagnosed anxiety, but also a home that is bound to be ruined, his life is a mess, an all consuming fire burning him inside and out, and he's barely holding on.

Helena Richards is a girl too good for him. Her life seems perfect, but it is anything but. She's got his heart, and his back. She's a fighter, a lover, and a believer in humanity.

Together, they embark on a journey of love and hate, of jealousy and heartbreak, of hope and betrayal. But more than anything, they embark on a journey of growth.

Notes from the judge:

I really liked the friendship between Will and Hayden and the way it is shown. Hayden's characterization is well done. Some of his remarks are very dark and threatening, which gives the story a darker edge that sets it apart and makes it unique. The level of depth in the scenes and characters, as well as the compelling plot development, made me want to read on!

Knowing Xavier won first place in the Hearts and Daggers (ongoing)

Story Blurb:

Knowing Xavier is a true story of illusions and reality.

Xavier Hunt is the school outcast. With his all black attire, an abusive stepfather, and a drug-addicted mother, he's the target of all the rumors the school has to offer.

The bruises on his body? Probably a result of his underground fighting. The scowl on his face? Definitely to warn people to stay away. His deteriorating grades? Obviously maintaining the bad boy façade. The silence he rarely breaks? Clearly so that he doesn't spill his secrets. He's cold. He's fucked up. He's an asshole. Or so they say.

Everyone has something to say about Xavier, and they think they know Xavier.

It takes one glimpse of Xavier's reality for Haley to realize nobody knows the person they all think they know. Nobody knows the frightened little boy hiding behind the cool façade, the silence brimming with unuttered screams, the grey eyes concealing all that pain.

Knowing Xavier is more than just a story of teen love. It is a story of how kindness can melt the thickest of silences, and how trust can penetrate the strongest of walls. There is humor, heartbreak, unconventional protagonists, and a little dash of life-lessons.

Notes from the judge:

Knowing Xavier hooked me right from the start when Haley and her friend were talking about mysterious Xavier. I immediately was curious about who he was and what was going on with him. Haley's interaction with him in class was very well shown and heartbreaking. My only criticism was that I thought the opening may have been a bit more hooking if we were left in more uncertainty about what was going on at the end of the chapter rather than getting the answer so early. Either way, the first chapter left me eager to read on.

After just two chapters, I feel highly invested in the characters in Knowing Xavier, particularly Xavier. The way he is shown when Haley finally convinced him to come home with her is absolutely heartbreaking and I just want to be able to help him. Haley is very sweet and genuine. She has a strong voice as a narrator, and the relationship between her and her father feels very heartwarming and real.

What inspired the story?

Both 'Cracked by Him' and 'Knowing Xavier' are based on true stories. I take inspiration from real lives, sometimes my own, sometimes of those I interact with. One of these stories is my own, while the other is about someone very close to me. I want people to hear what people don't say, learn to read unwritten words, hear unuttered woes, and wipe unshed tears. That is what makes me write. And that is what I want people to read.

More news from the author:

In the end, I would just like to thank the beautiful Wattpad community, that is constantly helping me to become better, opening new horizons for me, and propelling me to write even when I can barely squeeze it in my schedule. I would be nothing without my precious readers, whose words of encouragement keep me going, and whose emotions show me I am understood.

As for what I would say to other writers ... write what you love. Don't worry about ranking and about trends. Write for yourself, and it will be beautiful. Write what you can't say, write with smiles and tears, and trust me, if you can 'feel' it, others will too <3
