Nightmares

This is kinda a part 2 to sick bb, in which the turns have tabled and Tony is helping Bucky

Bucky P.O.V
It was a late night as I finished organizing, Steve said I should try to keep things organized, I walked out of our walk in closet to see Steve asleep, sprawled among the sheets, I smiled as I got into the bed, as I was closing my eyes I felt Steve latch onto me, I turned to see his panic ridden face,
"Stevie?"
"No, please, stop, no" he muttered,
"Steve, babe?"
I put my hands on his shoulders and shook him lightly, small tears ran down his face,
"Steve!"
"Buck..please, no I'm sorry!" He muttered louder, I shook him harder and quickly embraced him,
"Wake up babe, please, it's just a dream" He awoke with a gasp,
"B-Bucky?"
"Yes sweetie, I'm here"
He sniffled, I rubbed comforting circles in his back,
"Shh it's okay, what happened"
"It was, um, a nightmare" he said in a small voice,
"Steve it's okay, I care about you, nightmares happen to the best of us"
"But it's different, I'm meant to be brave, strong, I'm meant to protect you"
"Stevie" I put my hand on his face, "You've saved me so many times, you've been through so much, it's okay"
"Are you sure?"
"Anytime, I don't mind cuddling you so you feel better, it makes me feel better too" he chuckled,
"Be my big spoon"
"Always" we cuddled for a bit until we heard a small scream, cries and running, we both got out of bed and ran to Peters room to see Tony on Peters bed, cradling him on his lap, whispering in his ear, zero confusion in his eyes,
"Tones?"
"Nightmare" he continued the whispering and turned him so his face was in the crook of his neck, Peter said a small,
"Dad?"
"Shh it's alright"
"Everyone, Uncle Bucky, Uncle Steve, Auntie Tasha, all gone"
Tony gestured for us to come in as we were kinda just standing there,
"They're right here bud, no worries"
"Uncle Bucky?" He turned his head and his round puffy eyes had small tears in them,
"It's okay Pete, we're right here"
I saw Tony whisper something in Peters ear and he nodded in reply,
"Sit down on the bed"
We both sat down, Peter was sat in Tony's lap facing us,
"So what happened Pete?"
"I was under the building, watching everyone die, one by one, I couldn't move, just cry and scream" his breath hitched and Tony rubbed comforting circles in his back
I grabbed his hand,
"Peter it's okay, fear happens to the best of us, you've been through so much for a teen, you deserve a break, don't be embarrassed by tears"
"I know..sorry if it's personal but do you get nightmares?"
I looked back at Steve with concern, before I could reply Steve did,
"All the time, like as in tonight"
"Wait really?" Peter asked, even Tony seemed a little shocked,
"But anyway, let's go get some water Peter" Steve got up as Pete got off Tony's lap to follow, before Tony could follow,
"Um Tony"
"Yeah?"
"How do you do it?"
"Dealing with the nightmares?"
"Uh, Yeah"
"So that was true, huh, I guess you never know, anyway, the putting on the lap always works then moving to the head-in-the-neck, comforts them as soon as they wake up, make sure you do the whispering in ear because it gets them out of dream land sooner then just yelling, it also doesn't scare them as much when they wake up, make sure you don't pressure them to tell what the dream was, he'll tell you when he's ready"
"Oh wow, thank you Tony"
"No issue, you helped me last week"
We both walked to go see Peter and Steve with glasses of water, I smiled at the sight,
"Pete you gotta go back to bed bud"
"I know"
"You too Stevie"
"Buck"
I did his mom pose and Peter laughed, Tony put his arm around him,
"Thank you Uncle Bucky, thank you Uncle Steve!"
"Night bud, sleep tight"
When Steve put his glass back in the dishwasher I hoisted him on my shoulder,
"Bucky!"
"Shh, bed time Stevie"
He flopped in defeat, I put him down when we got to our room,
"Big spoon, now"
"Gladly"
We both eventually went to bed, during Steve's next nightmare, I followed exactly what Tony said and it worked out perfectly.
