This is how much time has passed and the story will pick back up in the next chapter. The next month will be December in the story. The way I initially set this up confused some readers but it's important to know how much time has passed since Mark has made his decision. And, he has kept his word. The other reason why this is important is to see the timeline with certain events that will be mentioned.....such as D-Day. Changes are happening rapidly everywhere.
