Carried and Taken

Fish in the stream

Upriver I swam

Until the moment

I met you; a dream...

Waving currents

Resembling a dance,

A slow and steady pace.

Too long I've sat on the fence.

I carried myself

Long days and short nights

Long nights and short days

Dusty rose on a brand new shelf

Composure, resilience, acceptance.

Quick-footed pestilence

Of maturity.

But enter your endless compliments...

Taking a turn downstream

I begin to feel,

To reel,

A fascinating new theme.

Welcoming shade, I come

A clear cliffhanger

You are irresistible

I'll stay rather than run.
