Smile

Dear diary,

I was consumed by a darkness
But I still put on a smile,
I couldn't keep on crying
And I hadn't in a while.

It was a chore to wake up,
Struggling with my melancholy state.
My feelings cowered away,
They were too easy to sedate.

She was the only thing there
To stop me from ending it all.
Now that she was no longer here,
I could implement my call.

"I think I'll just end this,"
My first happy thought.
I look at my hand
Holding the weapon I just bought.

I pulled the trigger and
Heard a loud bang,
Happiness filled me
As my ears rang.

As if the bullet was a miracle
That cured my desperation,
I found myself flying
Up to a new nation.

Now my soul's been set free
As I hit the floor tile.
"Good bye cruel world,"
I say with my last smile.
