living for the sunshine

it's warm

warm enough for a

tank top

ripped shorts

and last year's flip flops

wavy blonde hair

bright, innocent blue eyes stare up into the
mid-afternoon skyline over an overwhelming amount of earth.

the smell of sunscreen,

a group of friends,

cool, blue waters reaching for our toes,

pale blue skies,

tan colored sand,

living

the

dream.

sunglasses getting stuck in your curly hair

sand burning the bottoms of your feet

waves having a never-ending battle with the beaten shore

seagulls stealing sandwiches

men asking for numbers

tan lines

new swimsuits from the beach shop up
the road

this
is
the
life

cool breezes while we wrap our warm towels around our bodies

we can't wait for tomorrow,

our second day of this adventure

we're

just

living

for

the

sunshine.
