♡ c h a p t e r ~2 ♡

~ Same day as the previous chapter~

As break comes to an end my eyes are drawn to the many people with big cameras and I begin to wonder again, what is happening? I shrug and tap Sadie on the shoulder "Come on let's go the bells about to go." Halfway through the day and we now have form class, as I step into the classroom I notice no students and a handful of teachers. "Oh I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt," I say taking a step back. "No, It's okay Madelyn we have an assembly today so head over to the hall." My form teacher says looking up at the few students behind me who walk out the door. Nodding I make my way to the hall trying to find Harper and Sadie, I'm squished between the rows of students making their way into the hall, I spot Sadies ginger hair and I head in her direction. Us three take a seat towards the middle section as it's less crowded, as I sit down I notice all the equipment I saw being loaded out this morning is placed on the stage. "I wonder if our school band got new equipment" Harper pipes up. "Probably just testing it out, showing us how great they are." Saide scoffs. Soon enough all the seats around us are being filled with students and the room gets quieter and quieter until you hear the sound of a microphone being turned on. "Good afternoon ladies and gents, today was an uncalled for assembly we are pleased to have some very lovely guests perform for us today. A student of ours was nominated for a surprise show, so please make our guests feel welcome and sing along if you know the words." Our headteacher says as she smiles and nods at me and exits the stage. Harper, Sadie and I all give each other a confused look.  

The projector turns on and a bright blue appears on the screen, music begins to play. I recognise that tune... I recognise it way too well. My heart is racing a million miles per hour, it can't be..? Harper gasps and Sadie covers her mouth in shock, three boys with guitars run on the stage and start singing. The words "New Hope Club" appear on the projector and I can't register what's going on. I just stare in awe at Reece, Blake and George who are at my school, in my country and on my school's stage. I hear my friends screaming the lyrics and it just hit me and I'm knocked out of my shock trance. I begin to scream the words to permission with them. I notice the boys look our way quite a few times. Everyone begins to stand up and we all scream along "SO WE DON'T NEED PERMISSION FOR NOTHING!" Jumping up and down to each verse, "Sometimes we get confused, we never quite know what we want, until the day we do. Cause we don't get to choose you can't just run away from love when love comes chasing you." George sings and I notice Blake... did he just wink at us? We earn quite the fair share of looks but I honestly couldn't care less my idols were on stage performing and we were in our element. "I KNOW, I KNOW... I AIN'T MISSING YOUUUU AT ALLLL I DON'T NEED NO MEDICINE" the boys since and we shout along. Us three going "OH WOAH" to each part of Medicine. Soon the songs come to an end and the boys thank the school and do a little speech and walk off the stage. I'm bursting with adrenaline and I can't believe that just happened. I notice Ben the tour manager walking over to us and I quickly try to contain my excitement and my goofy grin. "Hi girls! Thanks so much for being so supportive of the boys and Madelyn you were actually the student nominated. If you could just stay behind until everybody leaves then the boys can take pictures and you can have a chat." Ben says looking at all of us, I can't hold back my massive smile "I can't believe it... thank you so much!" I say he nods and walks off. Sadie and Harper shake me "WHAT IS THIS IS THIS EVEN REAL MADDIE!" Sadie practically yells. "I DON'T EVEN KNOW" I yell back mocking her slightly. The next five minutes consists of us saying "oh my god" about 5000 times and everybody making their way out of the hall back to the rest of the form class period. 

Within about 10 minutes of waiting we see Blake, George and Reece appear from the backstage area all smiling and waving. Each of us hugs all of them and take a few photos... by a few, we spammed all of our phones with photos. "So lovely to meet you girls, are you Madelyn I presume?" Reece asks me I nod "Thank you so much for coming all this way I'm still in shock." I lightly chuckle. "Anything for our fans it's exciting to travel to new places and reach out to fans who don't get the chance as much as others," George says. "That's so nice of you guys to do this for us," Sadie says, you can practically see the hearts in her eyes when she looks at George. "Your school is lovely, everybody is very friendly," Blake mentions and I pipe up and say "To you lot obviously cause your guests but try being a student here." Earning a laugh from all of the boys. After maybe 10 more minutes of talking, I hear the bell go off, and I'm actually quite disappointed they were all so lovely and genuinely nice people. As we say our goodbyes and walk off as Harper and Sadie scroll through the pictures I just walk alongside them smiling like an absolute idiot, I can't believe I actually just met New Hope Club. As we head for the door I hear distant footsteps and they seem to be getting closer and louder. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see an out of breath Blake. "Hey." Is all he says, "Um hi." I say and whisper shout to Harper and Sadie "Go ahead, I'll catch up." They exchange looks and walk out leaving me with you know, Blake Richardson just casually. "So erm I never really do this... well I don't do this at all but um," he says looking slightly nervous which matches how I'm feeling. "You seem like a really nice person and erm were not to meant to do this with fans but uh could I get your number?" he asks glances at me then at the floor then back at me. I smile again "Of course," I say with a forced calmness tone in my voice. I type my number in his phone and he does the same with mine. "Okay well uh thanks see you around," he says with a cute little wave and a smile. I didn't think that in a million years Blake Richardson would ask for my number... and be nervous about it! I see Reece and George high fiving Blake and mutter from him which I couldn't hear and then they look back at me and mouth to Blake "sorry." I grin from ear to ear and walk out of the hall eager to tell my friends.

"HE DID WHAT?!" Harper yells I tell her to quiet down and Sadie is just pacing up and down the corridor "OH MY GOD MADDIE THIS IS HUGE THIS IS THE SORTA STUFF YOU SEE IN LIKE DREAMS!" Sadie shouts. "Sshhh, who knows he might know even text me it might just be a one-off thing to make me happy," I say trying to calm them down but that only made matter worse. "When we were talking while you were in the hall I was saying that when we got photos with the boys Blake kept eyeing you up girl!" I laugh. "Let's just see what happens," I say as we all walk outta school and part ways.
