Friday is here. After a long day, Kyle invites everyone to the garage. Amy still isn't here, although I'm not surprised considering she hasn't been on the table since we signed up. I hope she hasn't gotten depressed over something. Joel has been getting quiet, and I doubt he knows where she is either. Isn't it great how relationships work?

Everyone piles in one at a time. Kyle walks up from his office with a small cardboard box tucked under his arm. His friend must have gotten an early shipment. Hopefully, it works.

"You all should know what this is." he said. "The guy picked up a knock off but says it works just as fine. Derrick? Rachel? Joel? Do you guys have tickets?"

"Yup." they say in unison as Derrick holds three of them up in his hand.

"Great. Joel, bring your laptop to hack the lighting, sound, and projection system. This flash drive has the program I want you to run. Just wait for my text and click the file under 'nameless.' Remember, this is plan B."

"Got it."

"The stuff is going to work though, right?" I ask.

"Well, I'm not sure. We just have to roll with the punches for now. If it works, great. If it doesn't, we have it covered."

Sometimes I wonder if Kyle knows what he's doing. Maybe he's just spitting out ideas and crossing his fingers that they work. He's good at it. I'm just curious if he's just being lucky.

"Anything else?" he says to a silent lounge. "Great."

Kyle goes down to his office. He thinks of that place like a different realm. Joel goes to the computers to upload the flash drive to his laptop before the show. I hear Derrick tinkering with one of the cars below us. There's been a leak and has left a oily brown puddle onto the concrete floor. That just leaves Rachel and I facing a blank T.V. with no job to do.

"You've turned into Kyle." I hear her under the clanks of tools and clicks of keys.

"No I haven't."

"Come on, Wyatt. You think like him. You go quiet like him. You turned into a mess like him."

"Why does everyone think that?" I would like to know. Have I changed and not noticed? Last time I checked, I'm still happy go lucky Wyatt that everyone knows and loves.

"It's just that you seem stressed out. Take a step back and let everything go."

Is she right? I know I've put a bunch of work into this. I've gotten home late for the past few weeks. Does that mean I'm stressed? I'm Wyatt Bailic. Who cares if I'm a bit worn out?

"You're doing it again." She says with an empty smile. "Your thinking like Kyle." I guess she may be a little right.

The sunsets and signals for us to leave. I haven't been this nervous for the next day since homecoming. But I'm ready. Marie is just another leader to check off the list. Maybe we can really get this place back to normal. Normal would be good.
