"Hello, my love," Brad hums happily as he drops some bags on the kitchen counter top before he comes ands kisses your forehead on the couch.
"Hey babe,"
"I have a whole night planned for us," he smiles down at you, his grin widening when he sees your face light up. "You gotta give me about half an hour to get ready though, if that's alright."
"Of course," you say, getting up and heading towards your shared room, passing by the kitchen.
"Don't look in the bags!" He calls, rushing behind you and covering your eyes.
"Brad," you giggle, holding onto his arm that was over your face, keeping yourself balanced.
"You can't see yet,"
Closing the door behind you once you get into your room, he heads back to the kitchen and starts unpacking.
Putting the large bouquet of flowers in a vase with water, warming up the homemade lasagna that his mom made— especially for you, since it was your all time favourite, lighting a few candles in the living room and inserting your favourite movie that he had finally found on DVD, into the player.
He hasn't planned on making tonight anything more than a normal stay-in night with you, but after finding the movie, by chance, at the store, he knew he'd have to go all out.
He hums appreciatively as the oven beeps, signalling the preheating to be finished, meaning there was only about twenty minutes before the meal was ready.
After the food is safely in the oven, he unpackages a brand new fluffy blanket, one that you had raved about a few days ago that he bought tonight as well. He puts it on the couch, on your spot, and moves the dinner tray onto the coffee table so that when he set up the plates he could easily lift it over you.
As he waits for the timer to go off he cleans up little things around the living space, whether it be the glass of water you had by your seat or the few strewn papers across the table.
He wanted tonight to be relaxing and simple for you.
Once he had both of your plates organized aesthetically, he placed them on the dinner tray before coming and getting you from your room.
You notice the flowers on your way in, a smile overcoming your face. You then see the blanket, thrown on your spot, your grin becoming wider.
The thing that gets you is when you see Anne's lasagna, the smell making the room feel even more homier.
"Brad—"
"Wait, one last thing," he smiles, wrapping you in the blanket and setting your food up.
He clicks on the tv, pressing play, watching your face closely as the opening scene comes on.
"How did you— but.. we couldn't find this anywhere?"
"I know! I found it today. Let's have an easy night, yeah?"
You kiss him deeply, feeling the butterflies in your chest flutter.
"Thank you," you whisper. "I love you so much,"
"Anytime, love. Anytime."
