"Happy birthday angel," Bradley murmurs, your eyes slowly opening to see your best friend sitting beside you.
"Brad? What are you doing-- it's.." you check your phone. "Bradley it's four in the morning,"
"I know... but it's also your birthday." He shrugs. "So.... happy birthday."
"I hate you sometimes," you smile lightly, bringing him in for a hug overtop of you.
"I actually have a present for you, but, you kind of have to... come with me right now." He backs away slightly, staying hovering over you.
"My dad--"
"I already talked to him."
"Okay.... where are we going?"
"Just, here--" he throws one of his sweaters at you-- the one you consistently steal from him, "put this on, meet me at my car."

"B, where are we going?"
"What's the whole point of a surprise, Y/N?" He smiles.
"It being a surprise... I guess.."
He lets out a small chuckle, pulling into a parking lot. He gets out of his car, looking at you, raising an eyebrow.
"Well? You coming or not?"
"Oh-- yeah, uh, of course," you stumble, quickly undoing your seatbelt and getting out.
Bradley intertwines your fingers together, pulling you up a small hill.
"So, sit here," he gestures to a blanket and some candles set up in the grass over a look out, your small town glimmering back at you in the darkness of the night. "The sun should be rising.." he checks his watch, "any minute now, and it'll rise right over there." He points, using your hand with your pointer finger out.
"Brad this is..."
"Shh.. don't. This isn't the half of it. Believe me."
You grin, resting your head on his shoulder, keeping your hands together.
"Angel," he whispers, just as the sun peaks over the mountain.
"Bradleybear," you giggle, knowing he absolutely hated when you called him that-- solely because that wasn't a name anyone but his mother could call him.
"Shut up," he laughs loudly. "You're a pain in the ass sometimes, you know?"
"I know."
"Can you let me talk now?"
"Yes," you smile.
"Angel, I... I don't want to make it seem like I'm trying to.. I don't know, pressure you into this because it's your birthday.." he pulls away from you to look in your eyes.
"Brad.. what're you.."
"And I know I probably shouldn't even be asking you this on your birthday but... my angel, I... I can't stand the thought of only being your best friend for the rest of our lives. I want to be beside you every morning when you wake up, and kiss you with morning breath. I want to hold you every night before we fall asleep murmuring sweet nothing into your hair.. I.. I guess what I'm trying to say is.."
Your eyes are coated in unshed tears, as you nod your head in encouragement for him to continue.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
Instead of answering you place your lips on his, kissing him feverishly.
Thank god he felt the same way.
"One.. one more thing," he separates you two.
Reaching behind him, he pulls out a small box. He opens it towards you, a shy smile on his face.
"I was really hoping you were in the same boat as me... with all those feelings and such... Happy birthday my love,"
