"Morning, my love," you hear being murmured in your doorway.

Cracking open an eye you sleepily glance towards the voice with a small grin covering your face.

"How're you feeling?"

"Better now.." you smile wider at your boyfriend as he comes and sits next to you on your bed with a plate full of breakfast.

"I made you eggs and bacon.. and.. I did make toast but I burnt it.." Bradley shyly smiles, his cheeks a light pink.

"Thank you B..."

"Of course," he hums, watching you as you start to eat. "I know your birthday—"

"Brad.. we discussed that we weren't talking about it this year.." you sigh softly, taking a small bite of eggs.

"I know.. but it's still your birthday today."

"Brad—"

"And I did agree to not celebrate it today. So i didn't get you cake.. but, I did get you a present, and you have to accept it."

Sighing again, you glance up at him with soft eyes.

"I don't want to celebrate a birthday without my mom baby.." you tuck your lips into your mouth, looking back to your plate as you suddenly lost your appetite.

"I know you don't, love. And we don't have to."

After a few moments of silence you set your plate on your nightstand and scotch closer to him as you wrap your arms around his waist and rest your head into his neck.

"Could we go visit her..?"

"Of course. How about we relax this morning, I'll make you quesadillas for lunch, and we can go to the park for a bit? I made dinner plans at six, so we could go see her afterwards?" he offers, rubbing his hand up and down your arm, pressing a light kiss to your hair as he finishes.

"That sounds like a good day to me.."

After a long nap, a delicious lunch and some running around, you ended up sitting at your favourite restaurant as you ate a lovely dinner with Bradley.

He truly gave you everything you ever wanted in life.

He was perfect.

Guiding you out of the restaurant, he leads you to his car and opens the door for you, making sure you were in before he closed the door and got in his side.

"Ready to see your mom?"

"Yes," you smile softly, excited to see her again.

After a few minutes he pulls into the cemetery, parking in one of the first few stalls.

"Well? Let's go say hi," he smiles, letting you get out before he grabs your hand and you start to walk to where her grave was.

"Thank you for taking me here so much.."

"Anytime you want to come here, you can call me. I love telling your mom about how much I love you," he kisses your head, letting your hand go as you reach her tombstone.

"I just left something in the car, love, I'll be right back."

"Okay," you smile at him, watching him for a brief moment as he walks back to his car before you turn to your mom.

"Hi mom.. it's my birthday today," you start off quietly. "Brad's been really good about not mentioning it.. he knows I don't like talking about it when I don't have you here."

You glance up between the trees, watching the sky darken and stars start to appear.

Luckily the owner of the graveyard had gotten to know you and Bradley pretty well and allowed you two to come in whenever you wanted— whether the cemetery was open or not.

"It's harder everyday without you." Your eyes tear up. "I thought it'd get easier, but it doesn't. I miss you so much.. but, I'm not going to cry tonight," you sniffle softly. "I know you'd probably get mad at me if you were here right now for crying on my birthday."

You sigh softly as you look back to where Brad was walking towards you.

"But Brad's here now so.. he'll make sure I don't cry."

Bradley smiles at you as he sits next to you, placing a box behind him. He wraps his arm around your shoulders and pulls you closer, kissing your forehead as he murmurs an 'I love you.'

"Hey Mrs. L/N. How's it hanging?" He asks light heartedly, making you laugh loudly.

He grins down at you, knowing you were okay, before he grabbed the box and placed it in your hands.

"For you,"

"Brad—"

"Just open it." He cuts you off. "I asked your mom for permission to get you this today... and she said yes."

You look up at him with wide eyes before glancing back to the box, softly lifting the top part off.

In it was a framed picture and a plaque placed on top. A small box with ribbon was placed on top of it all, a small note taped to it.

    Read the plaque first.

Picking up the plaque, tears start to roll down your cheeks as you read over the words.

"You bought me a star..?"

"Yeah.." Brad smiles, taking your empty hand and using it to point straight up through the trees. "That one, right there. So everytime you're here, you can look up and know it's yours. And.. if you read the picture, you'll see the name for it."

A soft sob leaves your lips as you read over your mother's name, your body overwhelmed with the amount of love filling your veins.

"I love you s-so much," you cry, curling yourself into his side.

"I love you too.. here," he takes the small ribbon tied box and opens it in front of you, showing you the small charmed bracelet that had a star on it.

"Now you can have a little piece with you everywhere you go too."

Your lip wobbles as you watch him clasp it on your wrist, your words failing you and you grip onto him tighter.

"I love you so much, baby..." he whispers, rocking you lightly. "Happy birthday."
