23 One Can Only Hope

I was currently making my way over..
But I'll admit... I got lost.
The tornado went away and I attempted to go my own way to it.

" great... I'm such an idiot.."

I sighed and crossed my arms.
I heard a horse neigh and I turned around.
I saw a young white horse run at me.

" wo! W-wait!!"

He ducked his head and I felt the horses head go between my legs forcing me to ride it.
I sat up backwards on the horse and screamed.

" y-you're crazy where are you running too!!"

I turned around and grabbed its Hair.
I realized he's going down the same road I was but a bit different.
I was curious.
Is he going the same place I am??
We ran in the forest and we burst through some trees.
We're now in an open space.
In instant I felt my heart throb.
I held my chest.

" w-what's happening..."

I felt a pretty bad presence..
I looked up when the horse started to go down hill.
I saw them.
Hyakkimaru, tahomaru, mutsu and hyogo..
I looked in shock.
Their arms...
That's not theirs is it..
I watched as a fire white horse hold hyogo under its hoof.
Is that a demon?!!

" sis!!"

I turned my head and saw dororo running at me.

" dororo...mom.. and the priest?"

What is happening here..
I watched as dororo stopped and looked shocked.
I turned back around and saw mutsu and hyogo stab the horse.
The horse screamed and threw blood everywhere and looked down at hyogo..
I watched as it bite hyogos head right off.
I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out..
I'm... already in shock..
I also saw mutsu get kick and instantly was killed.
The arms that didn't belong to them acted out and stabbed the horse one last time..
Until it all stopped.
The horse I was on walked to it whining quietly.
The demon horse walked to us and I shook.
It nuzzled it's nose on the younger one.
Then looked at me.
I looked into it's eyes.
It's..his mom..the big horse bumped my head and fell.
The little horse walked to it's now dying mother and I got enough strength to slid off.
I cried and I felt a hand hold my back.

" dororo.."

" will you be ok sis?"

I covered my face.
I felt a bone chill down my back when I heard tahomaru scream.
I looked up and saw him near hyogo and mutsu.
I slowly walked over..

" sis..don't.. he'll!"

I ignored her and went anyway.
I went to my knees behind tahomaru and held onto his back.
I felt him whip his head around.

" I hate this..."

I gripped his back harder and he looked down at me with a tear stained face.
He started to cry again when he realized you were there.
He turned around and pulled you into a hug.
He didn't say a word but his emotions were enough..
I looked at hyogo and mutsu and prayed their souls find peace..
I then heard Hyakkimaru scream.
I pulled away and looked towards him.
I watched in shock when Hyakkimaru raised his hands to the sky.
I felt tahomaru stand up and pull out his sword.
His eyes..3 eyes???
What?!!

He ran at Hyakkimaru and they continued their fight.
Dororo came over to me and helped me up pulling me away from the fight..
I shook my head down at her and said.

" no..we can't run anymore dororo...follow me."

She looked confused.
I walked to them and saw an Opportunity when they both went to their knees.

" Hyakkimaru.."

His eyes widen and he looked up.
He panicked and put his bloody hands behind his back.
Tahomaru stood up and put his arm out so I couldn't get closer..

" love..please stay back...I can't lose you too.."

He looked at me with soft eyes..
I looked at Hyakkimaru and tahomaru snarled.

" don't you understand now...he's a curse too this land...if he never showed up this all would be fine.."

Hyakkimaru still looked scared and was panting like an animal..
I clenched my fist.
Hyakkimaru got up and made a noise and ran off.

" hey! Get back here!!"

Tahomaru yelled and ran after him.
I wanted to go after them but I felt my arm being grabbed.
I turned around and saw the priest.

" it's best you don't interfere.. you'll make things a whole lot worse if you get killed in the middle of this.."

I slumped my shoulders and nodded.
That's true..or my deal would be broken.
I saw mom go and sit next to the horse and her child.
I felt my heart ache..
I may not understand her pain.
But..I know a Mother's love is undying.
I looked at dororo and smiled.
I then felt a tug of my robe and looked at the priest.

" come.. let's chat."

I nodded and walked away with him for a bit.
We stopped and I said.

" so what the ne-"

I got slapped.
I held my cheek and the priest frowned at me.

" what were you thinking..."

He held up a my spider lily.
I attempted to get it back and he yelled.

" you think this would the best answer?? Making deals with the demons is always the wrong way!"

I clenched my fists and said.

" no it's not!! Tahomaru needs his land and Hyakkimaru has his body! They have everything they want! "

The priest slumped his shoulders and said.

" how Naïve you are...in all honesty they don't care about those things... they may think that now..but when they have it...they'll realize what's most important to them and it'll brake them.."

I looked up confused.

" it's you..they want you most of all...and you just took it away from them.."

He shoved the lily into my chest and walked away.
I looked down at it wide eyed.
We stayed there for awhile and dororo introduced me to her new friends from a village dororo and mom visited. I smiled.
But the priest words still lingered in my head..
Was... I wrong..
I sighed and looked towards the hills..
But I stopped..

" is that...fire?"

They all looked and mom said.

" that's...daigos land.."

I realized what was happening and started running..
No..I won't let this happen.
No ones gonna die!
I looked up and attempted to run faster.
I didn't realize but mom, dororo and the priest followed after me to the land.

" tahomaru...Hyakkimaru....you will survive this..."

I glared.
