A/N - So far this has been entirely from Emily's POV and I want to have the diversity of both main characters switching throughout the story. From now on if you see a characters name in bold letters followed by "POV" then you know what you're reading is from their POV. This chapter is a little bit of Cole's backstory along with his POV from the events that have happened so far! Thank you so much to everyone who is reading the story, I hope you're enjoying it!

COLE'S POV

A new round of girls had finally been brought to the house. Only a few weeks ago Zac, Jesse, and Max went on a run to a school about a days trip away from here but the girls from that trip were difficult. I didn't even speak to the girl assigned to me. After about a week I 'accidentally' let her slip past me and into the woods. She's probably dead by now. The wolves I assume. They're terribly hungry around this time. November. It was getting cold and animals becoming more scarce.

I keep telling Zac I don't want another girl for a while, not after what happened last year. I suppose I should have never stepped down from being the pack leader if I didn't want to listen to Zac and his rules. Oh well. He agrees that when I'm ready I'll take over again but something tells me he is enjoying being in charge too much that he won't actually give up his new role as leader.

There is another shooting scheduled for today. We're in need of 3 girls. One for Max, myself, and the newest member, Alec. He's been watching his big brother for years waiting until he was finally old enough to get his own girl. It's been kinda weird having a young boy watch us all through the years. I guess I was there at some point too. I'm only 20, a few years ago when I turned 16 I had finally been given the opportunity to have my first girl. My father was so proud to watch as I picked one just like he did. I was brought along to abduct at a near by park and pointed to the one I wanted. Before I knew it she was brought back to this old cabin in the woods.

I started to think about my dad. More than usual. I don't have many memories where I wasn't in these woods. He told me stories about how he had seen many amazing things during the night. He hunted bears and deer just for fun when he wasn't entertaining himself with a women.

This was normal to me. My mother told very different stories about the life outside of these woods. Public schools, food that wasn't caught from a river, other people.

One day she disappeared. I was 13 and the last thing I said to my mom is that I didn't want to leave without dad. It was the night before Christmas. The one day where I actually got to leave this forest and go see the lights in the city. My mom came into my room and shook me awake saying it was time to go already. Something wasn't right though. Her eyes showed pain and fear. She was in a hurry to get out of here.

"Not without dad!" I screamed over and over again. I didn't want to go see the lights without him. However what my mother was telling me was far from the truth. It was the middle of the night, lights were not what we were going to see. She was running away. My screaming had woken up my dad and before I knew it, my mom had fled the house. Running as fast as she could out of the house with her white nightgown flying in the wind with her.

I begged over and over for my father to go after her but all he would say is "We don't go after them." He shut the door and never spoke about her again. I was told the truth about this life. Up until this point I had never known that I was the product of a kidnapper and his victim.

My dad - Adam Johnson, was an evil man. He took women and brought them back to his cabin in the woods and made them stay to be his bride. After 5 or so girls one fell in love with him and they had a child. Me. After having his first and only child my father said that his precious girl had started showing signs of wanting to leave him. To leave these woods. That's exactly what she did, she tried to take me with her.
