As we all lazed in the cerulean sky
among the songbirds
he carefully handed me his smile over her shoulder
When he changed the music in our heads to piano, it dissolved the space between us
our forms met and touched
rubber gold enveloping his freckles as I
painted them with only the pattern of a summer evening's stars as my guide
My alphabet is all yours
please spell your life in little letters on my wings
before I die, I just want you to know
that you are loved
