‣ The Basic Alpha number substitution cipher or A1Z26 is a very simple code known as a substitute cipher. There are 26 letters in the American alphabet; A would equal 1 and Z would equal 26 because it is the 26th letter in the alphabet. A1Z26 is simply as counting the alphabets.
