Mini fact sheet:

Swifts and swallows are often confused as they are similar in many ways. This is due to convergent evolution reflecting similar life styles based on the manner of catching food (flying insects)  in flight. Swifts are expert flyers and are even known to sleep on wing.  Every year, the common swift usually flies an average of 200,000 km. I hear swifts every dusk this summer and thought I should finally write about them.
