Dipper - Gravity Falls

Chapter 3

Isabella woke up to her Mom knocking on her door lightly. She then peeked her head through the door, and said, "We'll be leaving in about an hour, so start getting ready sweetie".

I slowly rolled out of bed and went into the bathroom to get changed. The night before I picked out some light blue jean shorts with a black and white striped t-shirt. I put on some light makeup, and put my hair in two dutch braids. 

On the way out I grabbed my suitcase and put on my black and white Adidas. Mom said that the only way to get to Gravity Falls was through a bus, so she dropped me off at the station. Soon enough the bus was here, and she hugged me tightly and rubbed my back. 

Once I got on the bus I looked out the window and saw her wave at me. I put my earbuds in as the bus started to roll away my Mom getting smaller as we got further away. I decided to listen to SALES by Chinese New Year to lighten the mood.

I decided to sit at the back of the bus where there was room for me to put my feet up since no one was next to me. We made a couple more stops along the way, and the bus driver announced that the last one before Gravity Falls would be California. Two kids that looked about my age got on. One was a girl wearing a pink sweater with a shooting star on it, and the other had on an orange shirt with a blue vest. They looked around not knowing where to sit, and then the girl saw that there were two seats next to me, and waved excitedly. She then ran over with the boy following reluctantly behind her.

"Hi, I'm Mabel and this is brother Dipstick! Can we sit here?" She said a big smile on her face.

I took out my earbuds and nodded taking my feet off the seat, and scooted over towards the window.

"Mabel stop calling me Dipstick," The boy said with an aggravated tone.

"Ugh fiiiiiiine this is my brother Dipper," Mabel said as she scooted over to the other window seat leaving room for dipper in the middle.

"What's your name?" She asked leaning forward so she could see me better.

"My name's Isabella," I said also leaning forward so I could see

She gasped then said, "That is such a pretty name!"

"Thanks," I said looking down. No one had ever complimented my name before, but Mabel seemed different than anyone I've ever met. "Are you guys twins?" I asked noticing that they looked really similar.

"Yes," they both said at the same time. I laughed they reminded me of Caire and Elle yesterday while we were face-timing.

Mabel and I talked for basically the whole bus ride about random stuff, and every now and then Dipper would say something. Soon it was midnight, and they turned off the lights for the bus so everyone could sleep. I realized that I hadn't brought a pillow or a blanket. I wished I had because it was kind of chilly. Mabel was fast asleep with her head on Dipper's lap. I wish that Riley were here because then I would be able to lean my head on her shoulder. Riley was always the motherly friend in our group. I pushed that thought away and instead leaned my head against the window and shivered. Slowly I drifted off to sleep wrapping my arms around myself trying to get warm.

Dipper's P.O.V

Mabel had fallen asleep on me as usual. It looks like Isabella didn't bring a blanket or pillow either, so I kind of expected her to fall asleep on me just like Mabel. But she didn't though, instead, she just leaned her head up against the window. I could tell that she was cold because she wrapped her arms around herself and was shivering. She was a really pretty girl, and seemed like back home she would be popular, so why was she being so nice to us? Mabel can be a bit overwhelming, and I...well people just think I'm weird. Mabel and I had always gotten bullied back in California, so why would Gravity Falls be any different? I looked back at her to see that she was fast asleep. I felt bad that she had to sleep on the window because I knew that was uncomfortable, so I gently tapped her shoulder to check to make sure that she was sleeping. She didn't move, so she was. I had only just met her, but I felt as though there was something special about her. I was about to gently pull her to me when she suddenly shifted in her sleep. She turned towards me and put her head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around her to hopefully keep her warm. Soon enough I was falling asleep too.
