Dipper - Gravity Falls

Chapter 28

Isabella's P.O.V.

Everything was going exactly like Bill and Will described. The author was here and the whole town was destroyed. I slowly stood up and helped Dipper stand. I was still shocked that he had the same constellation birthmark that Dipper Gleeful had. I must have been staring because he quickly adjusted his hair and turned away from me. Did he think that I wouldn't like him anymore just because of a birthmark? I would always like Dipper, no matter what.

"Hello...Stanley" The author said as he walked over to Stan

"Stanford," Stan said as he embraced the author in a hug

At this point, I was even more confused than ever. My parents had told me that I was supposed to be staying with their friend Stanford, not Stanley. So Stan really was an imposter. 

"Can someone please tell me what's going on here?" Mabel yelled her eyes wide

I noticed that Stanford and Stanley looked like twins. Maybe they were brothers.

Stanford started to explain what happened to us. They did turn out to be brothers. Stanley had accidentally destroyed Stanfords school project that would have gotten him into his dream college. Their parents were pretty angry and threw Stanley out. In the meantime, Stanford moved to Gravity Falls and started researching the strange paranormal activity. And well...I think this will explain what happened next better than me.

After listening to their story I felt bad for both of them. They had both been through so much in their life. I could tell that they were happy to be back into each other's life. Then a very horrible thought crossed my mind: Gravity Falls had torn apart the brother's unbreakable bond, so what if it did the same to Dipper and Mabel. NO! Don't think like that Isabella.

"Why don't we give them some time alone" I suggested 

Mabel nodded and followed me back up the stairs.

"Dipper?" I said

He followed behind Mabel but I noticed he looked back at the two brothers.

Once we were at the top of the stairs I smile gently at him and leaned in to give him a hug. Instead of wrapping his arms around me like usual he pushed me away. This hurt me a lot. I don't know what I did wrong, but he clearly wasn't in the mood to hug me. Mabel watched wide-eyed when he pushed me away. She seemed just as shocked as me.

"Dipper" she warned

"I'm going into the woods and I don't want either of you to come with me," He said coldly

I just looked down and tried to suppress the tears that were threatening to stream down my face.

"I don't know what's gotten into him. He really likes you and wouldn't ever hurt you on purpose" Mabel said

I just nodded and took a deep breath. I was not going to cry. Dipper would come around eventually. Mabel and I went back downstairs and explained to the Pines brothers about the journals. Mabel had come up with the nickname Stan and Ford, so we wouldn't get them confused. I told Stan that Dipper had gone into the woods for some alone time, but he didn't seem to mind.

It was starting to get pretty late and Stan and Ford called everyone in the living room to talk.

"I have an announcement kids," Ford said "Dipper if you would like you can be my new apprentice"

Dipper looked at him wide-eyed

"But...why me?" He asked

"Well, Isabella told me about all the hard work you put into finding the author. I really respect that." He said

Instead of being happy Dipper glared at me. "Isabella is the one who did all the work, you should take her not me"

Why was he so angry at me? I thought this would make him happy. He finally got to meet the author and was being offered an apprenticeship with him. Dipper always discounted his hard work.

"If that's what you want then fine. Isabella, would you like to be my new apprentice?" Ford said

"In all respect. If Dipper doesn't do it neither will I" I said

Dipper's eyes went wide and he lowered his head.

"Ok, this is ridiculous," Mabel said standing up "Dipper this has been your dream ever since we got here. Isabella don't throw something away because my brother's being a jerk"

I looked down realizing that I was being kind of stupid. This is something that I would enjoy and I was throwing it away just because Dipper was mad at me for no reason.

Mabel just looked at both of us, she then smiled "They'll both do it"

Dipper just stormed off toward the attic with Mabel following behind him.

Ford then extended a hand towards me, and I shook it.

"When do we start?" I asked

"Tomorrow" He answered
