Chapter 17: Strange day

On the day of the doubles round Y/n , like the previous nights, barely got any sleep. Since the day he lost his arm, his nights were filled with pain and thoughts that kept him awake, luckily he was able to keep his tiredness hidden from his teammates and friends, even the teachers didnt notice his current state of mind. But this morning was worse, the low amount of sleep from previous nights and the new level of pain that was shooting through his body made it hard to hide it from his friends. The first one to notice was Ren, who gave him a concerned glance before putting a cup of black tea in front of his leader.

Ren: "Didnt get any sleep?" he asked his leader.

Y/n: "Mhm." Came the hum of agreement from the tired boy. "Too much pain... quite ironic..." A long yawn before he continued. "The phantom suffering from phantom pains." A tired smile grazed Y/ns face before he took a sip from his tea.

Ren: "You should go to the school nurse, maybe she can do something."  Phyrra, who woke up as Y/n talked about having phantom pains, made her presence known.

Phyrra: "I have to agree with Ren. "

Y/n: "Ok, ok, i was already planning on going there, my scar is acting up again." Both Ren and Phyrras face became grim. They already knew about the scar that covered Y/ns entire back but now with the loss of his arm they realized how much Y/n already suffered through and always to save others. Y/n saw the looks he recieved and sighed. "Dont." he simply said earning confused looks from his teammates. "Dont look at me like that, you know i would do it again." Y/n got up from his chair and walked towards the door. "Phyrra and Nora go into the double round, Phyrra keep Noras back covered, she tends to be a bit reckless while fighting. Tell Nora to try and charge up once it begins. I will be off now. See you guys later." Phyrra and Ren gave a nod and Y/n left the room. Not five steps away from the room someone ran into him making him fall on his face, resulting in a muffled 'oof'. The person who ran into him quickly noticed their mistake.

Weiss: "Oh my Ohm, i am so sorry Y/n i didnt notice you!" she said paniced as she helped Y/n up on his feet.

Y/n: "Dont worry, tends to happen." he tried walking away but Weiss grabbed his empty left arms sleeve.

Weiss: "Are you ok? You look tired." Y/n couldnt help but sigh.

Y/n: "Back and arm are acting up, didnt get much sleep."

Weiss: "You want me to escort you to the school nurse?"

Y/n: "You seemed in a hurry as you ran into me."

Weiss: "My sister can wait a few minutes longer." She said with a voice that left no room for argument. Y/n gave another sigh and a short nod. "Ok wait here." She walked to her dorm and opened the door. "Hey can one of you three help me get Y/n to the school nur-" she was not able to finish her question as her teammates ran past her out of the room.

Yang: "WHERE IS MY LITTLE PHANTOM?" she asked as she quickly scanned the entire corridor.

Y/n: "Dont know but if you mean me i am right here." the three quickly locked their gazes on Y/n who sat on the floor with his back leaned against the wall, his eyes nearly closed.

Blake: "What happened?" She asked concerned as Yang and Ruby helped him up.

Y/n: "Nothing, my back just acts up and i didnt sleep last night. Can you help me to the school nurse so i can get some painkiller?"

Yang: "If you want we can be your nurses~" she ended her sentence with a purr which made Y/n grow a blush. Quickly gaining control Y/n threw her a smug grin.

Y/n: "OH, will i get to choose who baths me?" Yang froze forcing Blake to take her place supporting Y/n.

Ruby: "Never saw Yang loosing her cool while flirting." she sounded astonished.
