For starters, flood accounts are widely spread and were documented in many ancient civilizations. So to some it really isn't a huge deal when connecting the flood of Noah's days and the great flood in Greek mythology. In fact there are three flood accounts in Greek mythology! In the great deluge of Greek mythology we learn that Prometheus had foreseen the coming of the flood and instructed his son Deucalion to build an ark, which he and his wife Pyrrha would later aboard and ride out the storm. Thus making them the only two survivors. After the flood was over and the waters receded the ark came to rest on Mount Parnassus. It's astonishing how the similarities between Noah's flood and the floods of Greek mythology are so incredibly close to one another, similarities such as a family surviving the flood on a ark. To me this tops the cake when it comes to the connections between Christianity and Greek mythology! Upon examination of worldwide flood accounts it's my opinion that they are some of the biggest connections between the world of Christianity and Greek mythology.

Further more, I found that it's not just a few flood accounts that has been recorded, but in fact it's easily over 200 flood legends that's been recorded throughout ancient history. Many of them closely lining up with the timeline of Noah's flood. For more information I strongly suggest reading (A Flood of Evidence) by Ken Ham and Bodie Hodge, it's truly a remarkable book.

One of the most famous flood legends to have ever been recorded is none other than the great myth of Atlantis. The most famous tales and descriptions of Atlantis comes from the Greek philosopher Plato in his captivating works Timaeus and Critias. However the myth of Atlantis had already been around for 9,000 years before Plato was born, making the destruction of Atlantis roughly 11,000 years ago. Plato describes an ancient city of many wonders and beautiful architecture that was said to be more advanced than any other city of it's time, perhaps even more advanced than any city we've seen today. However, the entire continant of the great and mighty Atlantis was sunken and swallowed by the sea. It is said that Zeus (Greek god of creation) grew angry with Atlantis, and in result he ordered Poseidon (god of the sea and king of Atlantis) to destroy the city and all it's inhabitants. A task Poseidon would carry out by slamming his tridant into the sea floor, causing a catastrophic tsunami that would overcome the land and sink Atlantis.

I could go on and on about flood legends from the Epic of Gilgamesh to the The Great Flood of Gun-Yu, the Asian mythology of a deluge that lasted nearly two generations

I could go on and on about flood legends from the Epic of Gilgamesh to the The Great Flood of Gun-Yu, the Asian mythology of a deluge that lasted nearly two generations. Instead I'll just get to the point, which is this; what I'm looking at right here is an overwhelming amount of evidence that points to only one thing, Christianity and mythologies all over the world share many core connections that are undeniable and deserve greater attention.
