you rest on the rim of my heart, cutting through the honey-sweetened heated liquid love with your fingers

heated, for you are the sun rolling off its warmth; seeping even under double padded, strictly secured, vine entangled breathing heart –

while flailing your legs as if you deluded yourself to believe you sat on a cumulus

– being awed by everything and nothing you felt and kissed with your eyes –

and not on the edge of an ever-rising molten love that might just drown you in and scorch you whole.

and when i asked you,

why do something so scary,

you breathed life into my being

all when i had stopped breathing to feel alive the most

until your eyes squinted shut and two crescent moons bloomed on either side of your flushed cheeks and gave birth to your smile

and every single time that precious, precious smile is born, i bring one of my own – albeit, unawareand then you cheekily whisper a kiss, leaving me all flustered and dazed

" if it's the love that i crave, i would drink it like it is ambrosia, and swim in it – be it a puddle or an ocean – until i leave no love untouched; i will drown in my greed to savor the taste of love if that is how i can feel all of you. "

only you could bubble a laugh out from the deepest pit of my stomach, make me untouch the ground when i stomp still on the grass,

only you could make me float high in the air, and dance in the water like galloping from one star to another – defying all laws.

you always make me wonder how someone so s̶w̶e̶e̶t cheeky exists.

but when i asked you the night you first kissed me, "can you kiss me forever? "

i expected you to laugh, but instead, you leaned in further and stole another kiss, and i let you as many times as you wanted to,

for something green, like wet moss, had begun to collect behind my mouth, desperately wanting to be cleansed but far too lost in its nature to completely grasp what it sought.

but then you came, smiling brighter than the sun, and kissing like exchanging blazing fire and warmth.

the fire was a promise i learnt when i felt something slightly heavy drop softly in my stomach and a breathless sigh escaped, and when i looked into your eyes, you whispered onto my parted mouth,

"did you feel it? "

and i answered in your octave, "did you, too? "
