🌹💕 Gaara x Reader - Sun, Sea, Suna

"Gaara!" I exclaimed happily as I ran towards the sea. The bright blue water and the salty sea breeze tingled as it splashed up against my skin. When my toes hit the cold water I shivered lightly but nothing could case away the smile that was plastered on my face.

The sun was burning and hot. It heated the air, the sand, and my skin. I took in a deep breath of that salty air and closed my eyes in enjoyment. I twirled around, stretching my arms out as a flock of birds flew over. Their screeching sounded so happy I smiled happily like a small child.

"Gaara! Please! Just your toes!" I said as I turned around and motioned for him to come. I could see Kankuro and Gaara on their towels and both of them had an expressionless face as they watched me standing at the shoreline.

I ran back, popping myself down next to Gaara. "Why don't you guys go swimming? The water is the perfect temperature," I said as I grabbed a large seashell and held it against my ear. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the sound of the sea inside the shell. The way the soft sand felt underneath my feet. With my grey and orange wet suit, I could play around in the sand without getting sand everywhere but I wanted Gaara to enjoy the beach with me.

"Gaara, please let's go swimming!" I tried again as I turned sideways to face him.

"I don't swim (y/n)."

I pouted slightly, feeling my heart throb at Gaara's rejection. Gaara was always rejecting me. If it was to go swimming, to walk around Suna, to watch the sunset together, not once did he accept my invites. 'Gaara will never like me...'

I sighed heavily and jumped to my feet, grabbing my surfboard underneath my arm. "Okay suit yourself."

I ran towards the sea, wanting to use the water of the sea to mask the tears that slowly fell down my cheeks. I raced past Temari who just came walking back from a quick dip. I turned my head so she wouldn't see my tears but I heard her growl in annoyance. 'She must have seen...'

I ran into the sea, not stopping until the water reached past my knees and I jumped on my surfboard. I paddled over the waves, getting a fair distance from the beach as I allowed a few tears to fall from my eyes. If only I could have heard the conversation amongst the three siblings on the beach.

---Over to Gaara, Kankuro and Temari--- (General pov)

"I can't believe you Gaara..." Temari said as she stood before her brothers.

"What?" Gaara asked as he watched (y/n)'s figure sitting on her surfboard. She was being lifted by the waves and sank down again in the same motion of the waves. Her wavy locks flowing behind her in the wind and Gaara found himself captivated by the sight.

"You could have gone for a swim with her," Kankuro opted. Had followed Gaara's eyes before they returned to watch Gaara again.

"I can't go for a swim Kankuro. I can't let my sand get wet. It's too heavy to master then," Gaara replied as his light-colored eyes were so fixated on you. He didn't even register that Temari had taken a place beside him. "She was crying Gaara... Why do you keep pushing her away?" His sister questioned as she turned to face him.

Gaara slowly turned to face his sister. She was glaring at him, her brows knitted in a frown. He could feel the disappointed radiate from her. "I don't have time for a girlfriend... I'm the Kazekage."

"Don't give me that crap!" Temari loudly exclaimed. "If you're so busy with being the Kazekage, then why do you take time off to go to the beach with us huh?"
