Chapter 25 - Mary Moores

T/W - Death, Funeral, talking about rape,

Virgils POV
I wake up. My whole body hurts. I realize I was crying. I sit up and see Roman laying next to me.
"Roman!" I yell while hugging him.
"Is everything okay?"
"What day is it?"
"It is Wednesday we have to be at your moms Funeral in 4 hours." Roman says.
It must have been a dream. Thank God.
"I love you Ro."
"I love you too Virgil. Did something happen?"
"I just had a bad dream. But I am better now."
"Good."
"Lets get something to eat." I say
"McDonald's?"
"Sure. I will drive."
I drive us to McDonald's.
"What do you want?" Roman asks
I smile. "Plain Cheese Burger and Oreo McFlurry. Oh and a French Vanilla Latte."
"Okay."
"Hello what can I get you." They cashier asks
"A plain cheese burger, a number 5, 2 Oreo McFlurrys, 1 large fries, and 2 French Vanilla Lattes."
"Okay that will be $22.39."
We get our food and pay.
"This is amazing." I say about the French Vanilla Latte.
"I know right."
Roman and I talk about other stuff then we head back to the hotel.
"2 more hours." I say
"Lets watch a movie"
"Okay."
We watch The Little Mermaid. Roman and I cuddle up with eachother. Before we know it the movie is over.
"Okay I am going to get ready." Roman says.
He walks into the bathroom and about 2 minutes later he walks out. He is wearing a black button down shirt, a red tie, and black jeans. I smile.
"What is so funny."
"You look adorable."
"Thanks. Your turn." He says
I go to the bathroom. I put on my black polo and black jeans. I try to put on my purple tie but I can't. I walk out.
"Roman. Can you help me?"
"Sure what's up."
"I can't tie my tie."
Roman helps me tie it. Then he kisses my forehead. I blush.
"I am ready. Lets see if Patton and Logan are." Roman says.
I freeze at Logan's name.
"Okay I need to put on my shoes then i will be ready."
I put on my shoes and we head to there hotel.
"Hey guys." We say as we walk in.
"Hi kiddos." Patton says.
Patton and Logan were both wearing black shirts and jeans. Patton had a light blue tie. Logan had a dark blue tie. I look around.
"We are all wearing the same thing." I say
"OMG we are!" Patton yells
Thomas and Remy walks into the hotel room.
Thomas is wearing a rainbow tie and Remy was wearing a brown tie. With a black shirt and pants.
"Dad! Papa!"
"Hi babes." Remy says
"Hi Guys."
I want to say something but I don't want to speak.
"Hey look we are all matching again." Roman says
"Hey lets get going." Logan says.
I drive us to the cemetery. Roman in the passenger seat. Logans behind Roman. Pattons behind me. Remy behind Logan and Thomas behind Patton. They are all talking about non-sense. I am lost in my own thoughts. I think about my dream from last night. Before I know it we are there. We were the first people there other than the preacher and the other people. We all get out.
"Lets go." I say
There are 2 rows with 6 chairs. I sit in the one to the far right then Roman, Logan, Patton, Remy, and then Thomas sit down.
"Is everyone here?" I ask the preacher.
"2 more I think. Oh here they come." I turn around. It was John and Kelly. I curse under my breath. I get up to welcome them.
"Hi guys."
"Hi Virgil. I am so sorry about your mom." John says.
"Yeah. We are so sorry." Kelly says
"How did you to know each other?" I ask
"Oh he was my uber driver." Kelly says
"Yeah. I asked him who the funeral was for and he told me it was for your mother."
"Okay. Well lets get on with the funeral." I say.
Kelly runs into me and smiles.
"I see we didn't get all the gay out of you. But that's fine." He says. I freeze at that. I sit back down in my chair.
The preacher talks about some stuff. Then we have people talk about my mom. I go first.
"I am Virgil Moorse. I loved my mom. But um... now we are here. ... I still love her. I-I hope she is in a better place now. I remember instead of singing me lullabies she would sing Hey Jude to me. By the Beatles. I love that song. She was an amazing mother." I end it there. I sit down. No one less talks.
"Okay lets get on with the will reading. 'I Mary Moorse, love my son. After my husband died I only had him. He was my whole world after that. I will give everything to him and he can decide what to do with everything." The preacher says.
After that the funeral is over and Roman drives us back to the hotel.
"Are you okay Babe?"
"Yeah I am. I am fine."
"Who was that other person there with John?"
"Um. Kelly my cousin."
"He isn't."
"He is."
"I am going to kill him."
Roman turns down a road.
"What are you doing!" I yell
"I am going to find him, and hurt him."
"Roman stop. Don't it is okay!"
"No its not. He raped you!"
"He what!" Remy, Thomas, Patton, and Logan yelled.
"Stop the car." I say.
"Why." Roman says
"Because I don't want to talk about it and don't hurt him."
"Virgil it is Okay." Patton says.
I unbuckle my seat and open the door.
"Virgil what are you doing?" Logan says
I jump out of the car. Roman stops the car. I keep walking.
"Virgil come on." Logan says
"Why."
"Because we want you to be happy."
"Fine. But I am sitting in the where Patton is."
"Fine. Come in."
Patton sits next to Roman and I sit next to Logan. My phone goes off

Logan: Are you okay.
Me: I didn't want anyone to know.
Logan: it is okay. We won't judge you.
Me: I don't know that. You can say you wont But you still will.
Logan: Virgil trust me. I won't judge. My dad he use to hit me. When he found out I liked Boys.
Me: I am sorry. How did he find out.
Logan: I don't want to talk about it.
Me: okay I won't make you tell me something you dont want to talk about.
Logan: Thank you. Oh did the dreams stop.
Me: Yeah but the new one was pretty bad too.
Logan: Do you want to talk about it?
Me: No not really
Logan: I respect that.
Me: Thanks.

I look at Logan and smile. He does the same.
"Virgil are you really okay. We just had your moms Funeral." Thomas says
"Yeah. She hated me anyway. And you guys would have found out about Kelly anyway."
"Okay." Patton says
"We are all here if you want to talk about it." Logan says
"Thanks." I say
We pull up at the hotel.
"Thanks for driving us." Remy and Thomas say together
"Its no problem."
We all go to our hotel room.
"Virgil i am really sorry for what happend back there."
I kiss him on the lips.
"It is okay."
He kisses me back. I pull him closer. He puts his arms around my waist.
"I love you." Roman says as he pulls away.
"I love you too."
