THE NEXT DAY was the most unsure one Lexie had experienced in quite a while. With just so many things off, she wasn't sure how to resume with her usual weekend routine. Read a book? Watch an old movie? None of it felt right to be doing.

Iris and her mother were gone at work yet again, her only seeing them just in time the night before in order to let them know that Emily was gone. As she set her plate, still dusted with homemade muffin crumbs, in the sink, she sighed and leaned against the counter. Her next order of business was to wander around aimlessly until something felt okay, but that was quickly interrupted by the doorbell.

Shuffling over to the front door in curiosity, her tired eyes found Dustin Henderson standing on her front porch appearing extremely pissed off. "Where's Emily?" he asked immediately, already looking behind her into the fairly spacious house.

"Will's," Lexie answered, face contorting in confusion as she saw who was directly behind him getting out of the car.

"Goddamn it! Why is everyone at Will's?" Dustin exclaimed prolifically, Steve Harrington meeting her eyes over his shoulder, appearing just as confused as she was. "Everyone went dead! No, you know what? Lexie, get dressed. You're coming with us."

"Whoa, whoa, Dustin. Hold up," she stopped him, putting her hand up while suddenly very aware that she was only wearing pajamas and looked like she just rolled out of bed. "What's going on?"

"There's no time to explain! Lexie, please. You've always been there for us and I need your help, it's important," Dustin hurried out, words slurring between his missing teeth. She couldn't say no to the begging look on his face, especially not when it seemed his other friends weren't in a great place either.

"Okay, okay," Lexie relented, stepping aside so that they could both enter the house. "Only cause I love you. But, you're going to have to give me a minute."

Dustin nodded and stepped inside, Steve following behind him, still unsure. Lexie turned on her heel and jogged up the stairs. Quickly pulling on a t-shirt and jeans, she tied back her messy, curly hair and pat it down violently. It would have to do.

Hurrying back down the stairs, she stepped into the middle of a conversation in which Steve didn't look very happy and Dustin appeared as adamant as ever. "Now I can tell you. Let's go, guys," he told them, gesturing for them to follow him out of the front door.

When they all entered the car, Dustin got very official right away. "So Steve, this is Lexie, Lexie this is Steve," he introduced, pointing at each one of them before he said their name.
