Never before had Georgie been in such a good mood to start school again and that was coming from her. Not only was she excited to see Fenwick and Regulus but also other people like Cordelia, Sirius, Rosie and even the Carrows! It was so nice to see Regulus having friends and him and the Carrows were so funny with their pretend hatred when they all loved each other really.

As ever, she hopped merrily down the stairs, expecting a nice breakfast to be there ready and waiting for her last day. But to her surprise, no lovely aroma of eggs and bacon or maple syrup pancake filled her nostrils. Instead there was nothing, not even a sound.

This was very wrong.

Quickly, she raced down the stairs, calling out, "Mum? Dad?"

There was no response until she heard the faint sound from her Father's study. Peeking inside, she found him sat at his desk, frantically reading over some document. Smiling, she opened it a little more to stick her head, "Morning! I'm up!"

For a moment, Ernest didn't respond before looking back wearily, "Oh... so you are... what time is it?"

"Um..." She looked around for a clock, "Exactly 9.43 ... is breakfast going to be done soon? I'm so hungry!"

"What?" Ernest said before shaking his head, rubbing his eyes a little, "I ... um ... can you make it yourself just this once."

"Oh..." She stepped back before nodding, "I'm sure I can figure it out ... just one thing."

"What?"

"How do you scramble an egg?"

He sighed, standing up, "Nevermind, I'll come and do it. I didn't realise how late it was."

"Don't you mean early?" She corrected as he walked past in a zombie like state.

"Oh yes," He replied but she got the sense he hadn't really heard her.

The growing uneasiness continued to spread throughout her as she followed him into the kitchen, only worsened when he failed to turn the light on.

"Dad, you're cooking in the dark," She pointed out after a few minutes of him not noticing.

He didn't even correct it which was very unlike him, merely carrying on with the task. Flipping the switch for him, she decided to give him a hug from behind.

"Thank you for cooking my egg, Dad," Resting her head on his shoulder, she finally asked, "Are you okay? You're acting so strange!"
