achilles was a god, a god among men

he was effortlessly kind and sweet, a perfect ten

achilles wore a helmet made of the finest gold

but if he battled the trojan man hector, he'd lose his soul

he led the attack on troy, the nicest general you've met

his lover patroclus and the soldiers agreed, too much would he fret

he was paranoid, a frenzied young adult

many people in the war died, and achilles believed he was at fault

he began to go mad, his mind falling apart

after patroclus died, his world was no longer a piece of art

he was a turbulent sea, stormy and fierce

but never once did his fellow generals also pierce

it was rough and venomous, how he'd move

but what was the now mid twenties boy trying to prove?

he'd scream and holler, all throughout the night

it'd cause everyone, not just the trojans, a major fright

he was bitter and sour, a truly changed boy

to him, love and happiness was a trojan ploy

he cried and screamed day after day

and all the killing seemed like a fun game to play

he lost his control, it was dead and gone

and over patroclus' dead body he'd fawn

achilles was immature and destructive, a mess among men

he was effortlessly cruel, and his honor he didn't care to defend

after a hit to his heel, and a stab to a man

the hero achilles was buried in the trojan sand.
