6 | The Future and Our Dreams

Akari and Jaemin promised to meet up at their (read: Akari's) favourite spot of the park. Akari arrived first because Jaemin had to stop by the school library. It was all because Jeno made the poor boy accompany him to return his overdue book. Also, Jeno was so afraid of being tongue-tied to answer on why he's two weeks late and embarrassed to explain that due to the fact he has a slight crush on the girl who helps out at the library. Hence, where Jaemin comes to help.

Jaemin saw from far away how Akari was so fixated on her writing that she didn't realize how Jaemin was walking closer and closer to her. With hands full of food and drinks.

Jaemin was careful of his steps and stealthily made his way behind Akari and got a glimpse of what she was writing about.

That was before she turned around, looking straight into Jaemin's face with a shocked expression all the while slamming her journal shut.

Jaemin chuckled and placed the food and drinks on the table. He sat next to Akari on the bench and turned to look at her, "What are you so scared about?"

Akari took a big gulp and accidentally coughed in the process, "Nothing really."

"But why do you sound like it was top secret?" Jaemin teasingly asked as his hands slither towards the journal.

"Did you write something embarrassing about me on there?" Jaemin placed his hand hard on the journal.

Akari coughed again. She stood still for a moment and then took a deep breath, "I was just writing about how all the different dreams you told me about. Just silly scribbles here and there. Really. Nothing much."

Jaemin took his hand away and gave Akari the biggest smile before letting out a laugh.

"You didn't really write done everything right? Even the silly ones that I actually said as a joke..."

"I think I did," Akari hummed teasingly.

"Like your dream to have kids the same time with Jeno, Haechan and Renjun so they'll also be bestfriends like you four," Akari laughed so hard that she covered her face to try to subdue her laughter.

"That's not even silly like yours!" Jaemin said with a huff.

"You wanted to earn enough money to buy filming equipment and make a short web drama with Jeno acting with all his crushes, or ex-crushes. Like do you really want to have like 50 people acting with him?" Jaemin questioned as he opened his bottle of juice.

"There's no telling what the future would be. So, it's just realistic that I plan out a million different plans so I could at least use like one percent of it," Akari stuck out her tongue and grabbed the other bottle of juice.

"Just stick to the fact that your future is with me," Jaemin nonchalantly said after taking a sip of his drink.

"I haven't even drunk my juice, how do you expect me to throw up at that statement," Akari gave Jaemin a side glance.

"A future with me isn't so bad, just admit it," Jaemin placed his head on his arm and had his eyes closed.

Akari huffed with a smile, "No, it wouldn't be bad at all."
