40. Attack

Reaper follows team RWBY and JNPR along with Qrow, Oscar, Maria and Circe to the Atlas military base after a Atlas soldier stopped by Saphron and Terra's house in the morning to tell them to come to the base. Cordovin is waiting for them all by the gates with her arms behind her back.

Cordovin: I'm glad you all could come. It's your lucky day as General Ironwood specifically requested that you lot were to be transported straight to Atlas. How he knew you were here in Argus is beyond me.

She looks straight at Reaper when she said that last sentence. The teams look at each other, smiling before Cordovin turns to the base.

Cordovin: If you would all follow me, I'll lead you to the transport taking you to Atlas.

She starts walking to the airfield with everyone following her. The Nubuck guards are following close behind Cordovin.

Qrow: I bet Atlas will be as cold as ever.

Circe: ColdER. Ugh, it's the one thing I hate about Atlas.

Cordovin: That's my home you're talking about. So please don't insult my country until after you leave the base, yes?

Circe: Whatever you say Cordo.

Reaper sighs as they walk behind Cordovin until they stop near the airships. Cordovin turns to face the group.

Cordovin: I hope you all enjoy your journey to Atlas. Perhaps your visit will show you the greatness of our kingdom.

Reaper: We'll see Cordovin. Though that's not-...

Reaper shuts up as he looks at one of the airships. Cordovin and everyone then hear a beeping noise that speeds up.

Reaper: DOWN!

Reaper grabs Cordovin and covers her as a set of transports suddenly explode. Everyone covers their heads as they hit the ground. Alarms begin blaring as Atlas personnel are scrambling to grab fire equipment or medical gear for injured personnel.

Cordovin: What in the name of...?!?

Pyrrha: Look!

Running through the fire of one of the transports, a hooded figure goes straight for Blake. Blake tries to draw her weapon but the attacker's blade takes a swing at her before she could really react. The strike is blocked by Reaper using his sword. The figure then launches back away from the group. They all see their sword, which is a red bladed sword that Blake, Weiss, and Yang immediately recognize. Yang freezes out of pure terror as the person's hood is lowered and they all see Adam Taurus smiling at them.

Blake: Adam?!

Adam: Hello again Blake. Nice to see you in an Atlas base of all places.

Cordovin: Adam? Adam Taurus? The White Fang terrorist?!

Adam smirks at Cordovin.

Adam: Ex White Fang thanks to my own faults and because of Blake. Which is why I have a proposal: Give me Blake, and I won't kill you all today.

Ruby: Fat chance!

Cordovin: You are one man! You couldn't stop us all before we took you down!!

As she said this, multiple Atlas Security personnel run up and aim their rifles at Adam. The bull Faunus smirks at them and chuckles.

Adam: Good, I prefer it this way.

As he said that, a Manticore drops from the sky and grabs two security personnel and flies high up again with the soldiers screaming in terror.

Cordovin: What?!

Adam: Your sensors might be buggy, best have that looked at.

More Manticores and Griffons fly overhead with many diving to attack Atlas personnel while others head straight for the city. A large Sphinx lands in front of the group and uses it's large wings to smack everyone away from Adam. Yang and Blake crash into the hull of one of the few intact aircraft while everyone else scatters around the airfield. Reaper groans as he stands up with a headache after his head had a meeting with one of the walls in the airfield.
