They walked into Devils office, a look of spite still across King's face. "I said I'm sorry Dice, I didn't mean anythin bad, I just wanted a reaction is all," "Well you got one. Now please, let's just get to work." Devil's ears flattened to his head as he looked down in defeat as they walked through the door. "What exactly did you need me for?" Dice asked, stopping at Devils huge desk. He perked up once hearing Dice's voice and said, "Just wanted ya' here is all." He gave a genuine smile as Dice's face hardened once again. "So what you're tellin' me is you want to, hang... out?" He asked, slightly turning his cubed head in confusion, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I mean, I guess if you wanna call it that. I've just got boring paperwork to do and was wonderin' if you wanted to stay with me." "Sir, I'm the manager of this casino, there will be fights and situations that I need to-" His boss interrupted him saying, "Leave it to Wheezy or something. It will be fine. Besides, don't you have some paperwork you need done? Now might be a good time." Dice couldn't disagree, the Devil was indeed correct, he had left some paper work in there before. But there were still things that needed to be done. "Sir, need I remind you that 2 certain mugs came in here and almost destroyed the place?" King said, almost in a scolding voice. It was true that the Devil had forgotten all about the fights and losing to two kids. He looked at Dice's right eye and looked down again. "He was so eager to spend time with me earlier, did I really make him that mad?" "Boss, I'm going out to the floor. Maybe another day we can do this." He started to walk back to the door passing the Devil as he now had corrected his position. "He ain't gonna treat me like that-" He thought, making his face stone hard. He turned around to see King walking back out of the door of his office, hands behind his back.  "Right. Go ahead. It's not like you'd do anything else. You'll never be more than a lackey anyway." He said smirking. He was going to get his dice, and he was gonna have fun with it. Dice stopped in his tracks flinching at the word he had used, standing there for a moment. Devil smiled, sure his lackey would make a smart comment back, fighting for the winning roll. But nothing. All he said was "I-" and then looked down for a moment, only to continue walking out. Devil was shocked and thought- "Oh so he's gonna make me fight to have him. Well. Let's see how much of this you can take before you crack Dice." He chuckled at his new plan, and despite how much paperwork he did have, it could wait. In that moment he had made it his personal goal to annoy his manager until he fought back.
Meanwhile with Dice, he knew nothing of this plan and was only furious. He was trying his best to hide his raging anger, but he could help but his face turn red, grit his teeth, and clench his fist harder than ever. When he could no longer hold it in, he was only a few steps away from the floor, only seeing a few customers, the employees, and a few people cleaning up what was left of the damage. There was a considerable amount of the damage gone, the casino almost looking like before and although that brought some confusion to the fuming man he could figure it out later. He looked around for an outlet for his raging fury, attempting to keep face and saw a dark room for storage. A closet of some sorts. He stormed in as quickly as possible and locked the door. Nobody had ever seen Dice truly mad and he was not about to show anyone he was now. His face was now cherry red and if he bared onto his teeth any longer he knew he would break them. He locked the door with extra magic and sealed the place where no one could hear what he was about to do. He took a deep breath... and screamed at the top of his lungs. An angry, hurt scream. This went on for a good twenty seconds before King had lost his breath and was now panting with anger. He punched the wall screaming- "YOU IDIOT!!! YOU BLOODY IDIOT WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT TO ME!!!" Tears now welling up in his eyes as he screamed once again "I'VE BEEN THERE FOR YOU ALL THESE YEARS AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY THAT TO ME! YOU TEASE ME WITH A GLIMMER OF HOPE THAT YOU MIGHT FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT ME THAT I DO YOU. YOU WANTED A REACTION SO YOU'LL GET ONE!" Now crying, his fists on the wall in front of him, he slid down the wall onto his knees. This moment hurt more than when he called him a good for nothing lackey in front of those cups. "Why... why do you- why does this... hurt me.." He said, his eyes going from a sharp parakeet green to a sad oak. He raised his hands to his face and sat down, turning his back to the wall and leaning on it. He didn't want to cry but he just couldn't help it. First two kids had defeated him, and practically torn him to shreds, then his boss called him something unforgivable and then to "heal him" he practically drugged him. "Only God knows what he did to me last night," Dice said in between sobs. "Why does this hurt me? He's been better to me in the last 24 hours than he ever has been, teasing me only to be cold once I leave him and call me his 'lackey' knowing it hurt me." King was right, his boss had been known to practically verbally abuse his manager. There had been times (several times) where Devil would call Dice out but instead of his name it'd be a curse word or something derogatory. There'd be other times when the few times that Devil actually came out onto the floor he would tease him about women or just general rudeness just to embarrass him. There had even been a few times that when Devil had gotten a bit lucky with some women, Dice would have to- nevermind. But out of all of those times had never hurt like they did now. Just an hour or two ago he had been within a centimeter away from his bosses face, feeling the warmth of his body. Just last night he had been in his arms, his boss carrying him like a child. Just minutes ago his bosses had licked him, knowing it would cause him to fluster. So why did he have this coldness now? Why the sudden change? And right when Dice thought things might change for the better his boss changed his attitude back to normal. Maybe that's why it hurt him. Or maybe for the fact that he had always.... Admired his boss to say the least and yet he treated him like this. His blood boiling and his anger deflating he was now on the floor in tears. There was then a knock on the door and Dice wiped his face enough to look almost back to normal. He knew waterproof makeup would come in handy. He sniffed and said, "Come in." With a low growl in his voice. The door unlocked, Dice unable to focus his magic on the room any longer anyway. Mike, a good friend of his walked through the door. "Dice...? Ya' in there?" "Yeah, I'm here. What do you want?" Mike walked over to the corner that the die was sitting at. "Soooo.... What in the world got you to spill the water works?" Mike said, sitting beside him, locking the door back with his own magic. "Heh... Is it that obvious?" "Nah Kingy, I'm just good at reading poker faces. You know that." Dice smiled and looked at his friend. "Dice... Your eyes are red... Who ruffled you? I wanna help." "Mike, I think you're the only one that actually cares in this whole place... About me, about anyone really." Mike chuckled saying, "Well I try. Who else is gonna take care of you? Well, maybe Wheezy, but I'm tryna make a point." "Speakin of him, when are you plannin' on tien the knot with you two?" Dice said, playfully hitting the microphones arm. "Oh shut it Kingy, when are you plannin on findin someone to date? I've never seen you make eyes at anyone, you never accept ladies offers, and I don't see you bein with any of the staff." Mike said, tilting his head to the side so he could make eye contact with his manager. "Seriously? Are we gonna talk about that now? It doesn't matter, I don't need anyone to date, I'm too busy with this place anyway." "Then why are ya cryin'." Mike asked again, his voice deepening. "Mike, I'm fine, that don't matter either-" "I didn't ask if you were fine, I asked why you were cryin'. Nobody's ever seen ya' cry so it was for a new reason. So the question should probably be who made you cry." Dice flinched slightly in response to not wanting to answer that question. Mike stared at him, stone faced and a hard expression. "Was it boss? Did he go too far? Especially after those kids came in and-" "I don't know anymore Mike. I don't know how I'm supposed to feel anymore." Mike was interrupted but quickly shut up since Dice was actually explaining. "He's kind one minute then the next he's back to normal. He takes care of me one minute then he calls me Lackey. He's an inch away from me one minute then as soon as I get mad he- these last few hours he has been kinder to me than he ever has. He healed me, brought me to his room, asked me to hang out with him, then did somethin' deliberately to piss me off then as soon as I decline his offer out of anger, he calls me 'Lackey' again." King put his gloved hands back over his face in order to hide his emotions. "He really called ya' that? Well, I mean, he's called ya' worse, but why did you suddenly decline his offer to actually spend time together?" "He pissed me off when he licked my nose when he turned into a cat this mornin and I was worried that it might have meant more than just a lick. I was worried our time together might make me want more, and I don't need that right now." Mike looked at him, rather confused saying, "Okay, first off, not even gonna ask bout' the cat thing, secondly, what do you mean by more?" A light purple flushed Dice's cheeks and Mike understood. He nodded and looked back at the wall in front of them. "So you were hurt by the confusion." "Guess so." King said, squeezing his knees. "Welp," Mike started, "You don't look red eyed anymore, and I hear more customers. How bout' we try to forget this morning and do our jobs?" Mike smiled, standing up and holding out his hand to help his friend back up. Dice smiled back saying, "Yeah... that sounds nice..." and took his hand to stand up. A slight nod between the two signified a thanks. Mike unlocked the door and after a concerned Cigar came to check on his manager and boyfriend, making sure they were both okay. King had already put up his normal facade and smiled as usual. After a bit a false explaining they went back to work like nothing had happened. There weren't as many patrons as usual due to the left over damage they had not cleaned up yet, but picking up a broom Dice began to sweep. Soon after he had already begun to forget about his troubles, his mind more focused on the pattern of his broom swaying left and right picking up rubble and dust while the Casino slowly got more crowded and it almost seemed like the boys hadn't been there at all to ruin everything that Dice and Devil had worked so hard to build. Left and right the broom swept, Dices mind slowly unraveling and his wits back to before.
