Phoenix was getting ready he got dressed and ready to defend Larry as apparently he stole money from a bank Phoenix, of course, didn't believe what the papers had to say
Edgeworth was already on his way to the court as he pulled up he realized he was...early. Phoenix just got on his bike to get to court

Phoenix had just arrived at the court he kept a clear attitude saying "I know Larry didn't do this. He'd never hurt a fly"
As the Judge called up the witness the witnesses testimony stated "I was at the Bank then all of a sudden I saw that man over there take out a gun and say give me the money I was so scared I couldn't even get my phone"
Phoenix realized a fault in the testimony he shouted "OBJECTION! This testimony is probably false Because the report says the police arrived after he called the police and he wasn't armed when arrested"
The witnesses eyes filled with shock then he blurted out "how do you know he didn't put away the gun when he heard the sirens and I went outside to use the public phone!"
Phoenix was shocked he got outsmarted
