(Summer's POV)
Right, so now I had to tutor Shawn after school every day, which was great, thanks a lot Mr Silvers. And I was still trying to figure out what he meant by saying that we go together. My crush on Shawn was just a fantasy, even if we were friends he would never like me that way, and he had proved that last weekend. Tutoring him, and going over to his house was so awkward. He has started driving me again but we barely spoke, except about school. It was basically like how it was before we had met. The hardest part was talking to my siblings and Aaliyah. They kept asking why me and Shawn weren't hanging out, or why we weren't doing the old carpool anymore, but I couldn't give them answers. I didn't even really know what was going on between us. There was one thing Aaliyah said while I was at her house that really surprised me. She thought the problem between me and Shawn was that he loved me and I didn't love him. I told her it was the other way around, but I don't think she completely believed me. I decided not to tell Isabel about it, that was something I could just keep between me and Aaliyah.
The next day, I walked to school with Isabel again, I went straight inside when we got there and I got to my locker early, but somehow, I still ran into Shawn. And this time I actually ran into him.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I bent down to pick up my stuff.
"No, that was my fault, I'm sorry." Shawn kneeled down to help me. Isabel and Brian were there.
"Hey Brain your next class is upstairs right?" She asked quickly.
"Well, actually—"
"Mine is too, why don't we walk together! Bye guys!" She didn't wait for him to respond and pulled him after her up the stairs. Why did she have to leave me like that?
"Here are your books, sorry again." Shawn handed me my stuff and stood there, staring at me.
"Well, um, my class is this way," I mumbled uncomfortably.
"Yeah, mines there." Shawn pointed down the hall in the opposite direction, looking away. I walked away from him and into my class. I'm pretty sure that my face didn't return to a normal color until the bell rang an hour later.
(Shawn's POV)
"Hey, Shawn? Are you okay?" Alexia tapped me on the shoulder and I realized that I had zoned out, and that I had been staring at Summer. I sat up and shook myself. "You almost fell asleep in your sandwich," She looked concerned. I hadn't slept at all last night. I couldn't stop thinking about Summer. It's like someone had pulled a screen from over my eyes.
"Yeah, yeah sorry," I turned back to my friends. Alexia looked at me unsure but started talking again. I glanced back at Summer and my heart jolted. What was I going to do? How was I supposed to tell her that I had just realized that I loved her, when I had already broken her heart? I didn't eat anything all through lunch and I took a while to leave the cafeteria after lunch. As I walked out, Alexia walked out from around the corner and stopped me.
"Can I walk with you? My next class is right next to yours."
"Sure," I said half-heartedly. We started walking again.
"Listen, I saw you staring at Summer today at lunch, and I know she loves you, and I know you love her, and I won't tell Brian."
I let out a breath and looked down at my feet.
"Can you tell me what happened on the trip?" She asked gently.
"I'm sorry, I wish I could, but that's between me, Isabel, Summer, aaaannd sadly Brian." I shook my head.
"That's okay," she said hurriedly. "I think I have an idea of what happened and I also have an idea of how to fix it if you would let me help." I though for a second. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to let Alexia help me. I mean she was a girl, right?
"You can try if you want, but i don't think there's anything you can do. I put myself in this mess."
She looked thoughtful. "Well, this is what I have in mind..."
What do you think she's going to say? Vote and comment if you like it! I might try to do one more today.
