Harry's a what?

Chapter 12

Severus quickly got up and followed Minerva to the hospital wing. Tonks and Remus were holding Harry upright and Severus saw that the bed, Harry, Tonks, Remus, and Poppy were covered in blood. Poppy was holding a bucket that Harry was throwing up in. Severus went over to the cabinet and grabbed a syringe and filled it with a potion. He quickly walked back over to Harry and injected the syringe into the IV. After about ten minutes, Harry fell back asleep. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Tonks and Remus laid Harry back down on the bed. Severus handed the syringe to Poppy and he gently placed his hands on Harry's sides to feel his ribs. After a bit, Severus said,

"He has several broken ribs which we already knew but if I am correct one of more of his ribs have broken through his stomach lining which is causing the throwing up of blood." Severus looked at Poppy and said, "Can I speak to you in your office for a minute." Poppy nodded and the two walked to her office. Severus closed the door behind them and then he placed a silencing charm on the office. Poppy looked at Severus and said,

"He needs surgery doesn't he?"

"Yes I am going to have to go and talk to Arthur about getting permission again. He allowed me to do it this summer."

"What happened this summer?"

"When Harry arrived at Grimmauld place, among cuts, bruises, a broken arm, the word 'stupid' carved into his back, and having been beaten half to death by his uncle, he had a bruise the size of my fist on his stomach from being kicked repeatedly over and over again. There was a cut in his actual stomach and he was losing blood and fast. I stitched it up and then he popped the stitches trying to eat oatmeal and I had to re-stitch it up."

"Ouch! Sounds like he had it rough."

"Yeah I need to check and see what the consistency of the blood in his stomach is. Can I have a syringe please?" Poppy handed him a syringe and the two of them left her office. Severus and Poppy walked over to the bed. Severus looked at Tonks and nodded. Tonks nodded back. She then folded the blanket down and pulled up Harry's shirt. Remus picked up his head and looked back and forth between Tonks and Severus. Tonks placed her hands on Harry's stomach. Severus took an alcohol wipe given to him by Poppy and wiped the area between Tonks' hands. Remus then asked suddenly,

"What the hell are you about to do to my cub?" Severus looked at him and said,

"I need to check and see if he is bleeding out in his stomach and how much."

"But it's going to hurt him and I am not okay with that!" Tonks looked at her husband and said,

"It is not going to hurt him as bad since he is knocked out. He will still feel it a little bit but not as much as he would if he was awake." Remus nodded, wiped away a couple of tears, and took Harry's hand in his. Tonks nodded and Severus inserted the needle into Harry's stomach causing Remus to wince and close his eyes. Severus then looked nervously at Tonks. She swallowed and Severus gently began to pull up on the syringe and it instantly began to fill with blood. Severus grabbed some gauze, pulled the needle out, and placed the gauze on top of the hole. Tonks then placed her hands on top of the gauze. Severus turned to Poppy and handed her the syringe. He nodded at her and turned to leave. He stopped at the door and turned back to the group and said,

"You guys need to hide Harry. Albus probably already knows that he is missing and will look for him. You guys need to make sure he is safe." Poppy, Remus, and Tonks nodded. Severus left and went back to his office and turned on his fireplace. He waited till it turned green then he grabbed some floo powder and stepped into the fireplace. He threw the powder down and said, "Arthur Weasley's office." Soon he was standing in Arthur's office. Without looking up Arthur said,

"What can I do for you Severus?"

"I need your permission to operate on Harry again?" Arthur looked up and said,
