"Ben?" Audrey finally pulled away, and Ben smiled at her. "I've finally realised that I've loved you all along. Nothing had ever changed, and will never change." Ben laughed, and Audrey gaped at him, unsure of what to say.

"I love you too." Audrey smiled softly, and Ben kissed her gently again, "Me too."

"Mal?! Are you awake?!" Harry saw a flicker of eyelids and a bright shining of green, and Evie instantly dropped whatever she was doing and ran over to the purple girl who was laid down on the bed.

"Owwww, someone tell me what the hell just happened in here?" Mal slowly sat up, all cranky, and Evie laughed, "Yep, you're awake alright. Just haven't started swearing at the sun yet."

"Someone turn off that gigantic lamp!" Mal shrieked, pointing at the curtains as though she didn't hear Evie's rambling, and Evie stopped abruptly. Why couldn't Mal hear her?

"Evie? Turn off the lamp!" Mal pouted, and Harry drew the curtains in confusion. "Mal? Can you hear me?" Harry spoke slowly, and Mal shook her head, "What's going on?! Why can't I hear any of you?!"

Oh no. Evie thought. The thing that she had feared most had happened. Every curse that a dragon undid came at a price; they lost something of theirs. Usually they lost their beloved, as a heavy price, but this - it was unusual, but Evie guessed that the heavens above were nice enough to let Mal keep her love and lose her hearing.

"Mal? Remember the price that every dragon has to pay?" Evie wrote down on a slip of paper, and Mal made a squeaking sound as she looked towards Harry. "No, it's okay. They took your hearing instead of him." Evie quickly wrote it down on her paper, and Mal relaxed.

Just then, the door creaked open, and there stood Ben and Audrey, hands intertwined, and the trio in the room stared at them curiously.

What was going on?
