Whiplash
damn you hoes are spoiled
"Um what?" I find it impossible to understand Hongjoong's words. He lets out a long sigh and looks towards the floor.
"KSPI. Korean specialized personality intelligence. A government agency that got cancelled 17 years ago after they were found experimenting on people. Obviously it wasn't completely cancelled."
"What do they want with us?" I sit forward begging for answers.
"They are trying to raise the perfect soldier." I laugh at his response.
"You're not serious are you? That doesn't make any sense," I shake my head at him sitting back and crossing my legs.
"It all makes perfect sense when you look at it," he sits forward resting his elbows on his knees, "When you woke up here it didn't phase you one bit. When you jumped from the railing you did it without a second thought. Other things that would normally freak people out are normal to you. A soldier without any fear to die are the deadliest of all."
I try to wrap his words around my mind. They broke us since birth and took away all of our attachments.
"We each expierenced a different form of loss, whoever we were closest to. Once that person is gone death isn't so bad to us."
"Death isn't the scariest thing in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while we live," I remember my mom telling me that anytime I got scared as a kid.
"We each have lost it all. All of us after coming back from the room tried to kill ourselves, but they are always one step ahead."
"How do they do that, know what we are going to do?"
"Imagine having a dog you raised since birth. You know if it will lick or bite a stranger you know all the warning signs if the ears turn a certain way you know to grab it's collar before it snaps or runs off. These people have watch and studied us they can predict what we are going to do before we even do it."
"Is that why you were so calm when I jumped? You knew I wasn't going to die," things are slowly beginning to make sense.
"I was in the second group. I've learned their tricks others have too and found loopholes to succeed in killing themselves. Yours was too obvious."
"Then why did Mingi freak out he's been there too."
"Mingi was in group five the one before yours. He doesn't understand it all, everything still scares him no matter how many times I tell him that they wouldn't let you die he still worried everyday."
"Not to be rude but doesn't that make him weak? Having that attachment to me. We are supposed to be cold killers right?"
"If we put both of you on the battle field he'd do whatever it takes to destroy the enemy even if that means dying himself. Some attachments make us stronger. Look at Seonghwa. Before he was a very caring guy we called him mom and now o be honest I'm even scared of him."
"So we are supposed to be soldiers what does all that mean?" I don't know any other way to put that into words I sit waiting for his answer hoping he understands. "Like since I guess I was in group 6 there has to be at least 13 of us right. Where are the others."
"14 total, as far as we know. Two found a way to kill themselves and three accepted what they were raised for giving up everything. They are basically like secret weapons body guards and assassins. That's what I think I'm still not even sure since it's technically tied to the government anymore."
