Chapter 16

We followed Jackie down multiple blocks before arriving at the warehouses. The warehouses in this district were wooden and crumbling. They were all in extremely bad shape and looked like they could collapse at any moment. I wondered why Jackie even had to work here. He seemed to read my mind.

"I lived in the slums before this job," Jackie told us, "My father died when I was seven."

"Since then, I have been the sole provider for my family," he continued "I sacrificed a lot."

"May I ask how he died?" Mordred asked for underneath her armor.

"I rather not discuss it," he told her "Anyway, we have arrived."

Sure enough, we had arrived. It was a crumbly old warehouse with red paint peeling on all sides. The only thing standing between us and the spies was a door.

"I wonder how we bust the lock?" I said.

Everyone had varying ideas and Beanpole had the smartest one.

"Guys," he said, "the door is open."

After that comment, we entered the warehouse to face the spies...
