Lexi could not believe her eyes when she opened the door and saw me standing there. One it was four A.M. What the flip was I doing up and out so late! Two I was standing next to some random guy. I'm pretty sure she had a lot of thoughts going through her mind at that moment. None of which were true.
Conner stood starting at the closed door for a few moments before walking himself home. He didn't actually live far from here and it was closer to his house then his car. He couldn't help but smile as he thought of the look he received when the door had been opened. It was one of shock and disbelief. He guessed he was the first man to ever walk this girl home and show up with her at the door. He knew she probably didn't think correctly about what they we're doing. But he also knew no one would have been able to guess that two young adults would be walking around talking until four in the morning.

"What in the world!!! I said have fun not show up at my door at four in the morning with some strange guy!! That's not the kind of fun I was talking about!" I couldn't help but giggle at my friends worrysome speech. Lexi got even madder as she realized I wasn't taking her very seriously.
"It wasn't what it looks like Lexi. All we did was talk and walk around town. Nothing more. No kissing, no hand holding, nothing, ok." I could tell immediately that she didn't believe me and I couldn't blame her. She had done exactly the same thing as I had many times showing up at my door but she never stopped at talking.
"Well all I know is it looks like you were in the company of a man till four in the morning. On a Saturday when you have to get up in three hours for church."
"Don't remind me. You don't mind if I crash here for the night do you? And maybe borrow some clothes?"
Lexi sighed and shook her head, " I guess it's ok this had better never happen again though or you so owe me."
I laughed as I walked to her spare room. "Don't worry I don't plan on staying up this late for a long time." Lexi bit her lip as she watched me walk away. I knew she was thinking about something and I knew it wasn't something she liked. But at that moment I didn't care. I closed the door to the room and pulled a piece of paper out of my pocket. It was his phone number. I quietly laughed as I remembered him asking if I wanted it. Just to keep in touch. I smiled as I climbed into bed not wanting the night to end.
